I am questioning if I am an INTP, I've been taking tests and reading articles to see if I fit being an INTP, I can relate to most of it, just not being as smart or unemotional, I get emotional over larger things like bigger personal problems, and I am generally angry most of the time. I am an Introvert, besides my habit of loudmouthed sarcastic jokes. I'm not very smart, I am excelling at my classes besides homework, I despise doing homework, there is no logical point in doing homework besides the so called 'practice'. And I don't read huge ass novels a lot, I'll read comic books, that's it. I am a senior in highschool.

You're a typical teenager, which in it's self transcends all types.

Cept maybe SJs. Bloody brown nosers.

I was very, very emotional at 17. Now my logical side has kicked in and I can dismiss emotions at will usually, or control them better if they don't go away. We still feel emotions. I think it's just easier to feel some emotions objectively (from what I've observed and in my experience... might not be true always!). I also sometimes feel emotions because I'm bored, but that's a whole other discussion...

INTPs aren't all smart, we just have different habits and a different way of thinking that can lead to being smarter... Being smart doesn't mean knowing a lot, it's a way of being and thinking. (imo)

I joined this forum to learn more about INTPs. We're all still diverse, even having the same type. I'm sure you'll see we're all a little mad here... (jk, sorta)

I think I posted on another thread where you said something similar, that it's natural for INTPs to question things. So you questioning your type makes a case for you being INTP. Someone can totally correct that if I'm off!

Like I said Emotions, that was on getting over one.

I mean, on another thread you talked about not sure if you were INTP. You were questioning the test.

I stated that I thought you questioning it made a case for you being INTP, on the other thread.

Not the other emotional thread. I replied to the emotions part with my first reply on this thread.

On the tread with the webpages, yah that was more of an accuracy test, I didn't believe that test was accurate, it mistyped my friend as an ENFJ, we still don't know his type. And a bit of a personal experiment; yes.

If you doubt you're an INTP than odds are you aren't. If you are one the profiles usually fit you, balls to bone. FWIW most of the people we see around here who doubt being an INTP do eventually affirm they're something else.

Alternates to investigate are ISTP (most common mistype), or INTJ. Sometimes we get an INFP mistyping too.

I'm curious because I was dubious when I first took the test. I questioned the validity, did research to see what INTP/INTJ meant, questioned whether it was too vague... Maybe it's not the same?

Some uncertainty is typical, and it does happen that a person doesn't believe it but truly is INTP. But unless a INTP individually is really clueless about themselves in my experience they usually can readily see the truth of the type and how it reflects in them. With a Ti dominant judging function your average INTP can usually analyze reality to get a handle on themselves. That isn't true for all types by the way, dominant NF's (INFJ's) can continually doubt their type, as they try to ideate it away.

Anyhow what you describe is different I think, more questioning the system rather than the application to yourself.

Yah, I'm pretty sure I am an INTP, I just get emotions more than others. I took 6 different tests 2ce. I got INTP 10 times and INTJ (the J at a very low percent) 2ce. I fit the description of an INTP. I didn't doubt it, a guy questioned it, (not saying names) and I had to verify myself, I looked online for 2 hours at INTP habits and such, I think I am just a but of an emotional INTP. I don't get much emotions other so, all I get is angry, confused, joyous, anxious and very rarely other emotions.
