you know, food for thought:
Maybe that's an opportune time to sit quietly and listen to others for a bit.

Come on, Jenny.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm RESPONDING to other people.

It's not like I'm just talking to myself.

But if you mean that I should give any CREEDENCE to their foolish ideas about GOD, then NO WAY--I refuse.

Not gonna happen.

Transcendence is hardly the norm here my friend.

Mostly its typically zombie banter. More INTP than elsewhere, though. (If I could live on a planet with only aspies + INTPs; zombie or not, and we could have all our food clothing shelter provided for us by a fleet of unic ES servants with no tongues so we could pursue our mindful pursuits I'd be as happy as a pig in mud)

...at the very least I prefer this banter to non-INTP zombie banter which I would encounter day in and day out on planet earth otherwise.

Zombies: aspiring to subhuman degeneracy/ membership in the animal kingdom (mind and body) since ~4,000 BC.

There are a few things I appreciate about the membership in this forum. Specifically the way its moderated. My experience would demonstrate that its pretty much impossible to get banned. Perhaps times are achanging, though? I have noticed an uptick in the last few weeks in the personal emotional investment of a particular mod in making a decision to warn/ ban etc any given poster. (e.g. the debacle with bronto/ cannibal whatever the name is).

I actually appreciated several weeks ago when I complained that a member had literally misquoted me (used the quote function and then deleted/ inserted their own commentary to make it look like I said something I hadn't) and the mods shrugged their shoulders so to speak. I guess I like that sort of random ass shit on the internet: the wild west type shit. I loathe all conformity even if it means I might be intentionally misquoted.

I really hope this forum stays random as shit & as wild outside the box as possible (minus any pornography/ serious debauchery)

You are REACTING to people; that's true.

But you are not thinking about what is being said.
You are not even thinking about what I just said.

Your thinking has a "one-direction" quality to it.

Sit and ponder for awhile.
Step outside of yourself.
Walk around yourself.
Look at yourself from every angle.

There's got to be a better way than the adversarial, "I'm going to preach incessantly, and then everyone's going to want to ban / victimize me, but I can feel good because I'm getting punished for my beliefs" approach.

There were some thoughtful ideas in those threads, and they seemed to go right over your head without ever being addressed, mulled over, considered, etc.

Jenny, that's only on certain topics.

And stop reading things into what I say.

I simply said I'm likely to get banned because the Mods have WARNED me not to preach or I would get banned.

It's NOT some kind of personal insecurity that makes me think I might get banned. It's just a simple FACT that I've been warned.

Please, just STOP psychoanalizing and look at what I'm actually saying.

And NO--I'm NOT going to hear people out when they are attacking me and attacking God.

When people ask sincere questions about God I'm more than willing to answer them with gentleness and patience.

But I see no reason to be gentle and patient with CRITICS, I just declare to them what is TRUE.

I understand that reading into things is just what INtuitives do.

I get it. I'm an Ni-DOM myself.

But you're missing the COMPLETELY OBVIOUS and giving advice that is unnecessary.

I KNOW what I'm doing. And I KNOW I am not pleasing you.

But it simply DOES NOT MATTER. You have NO IDEA how wrong you are.

One day you WILL know.

And if you're with Christ, you'll be glad you are. But if you're in Hell, you'll wish you had listened.

And NOBODY can use the EXCUSE that "Wonkavision didn't say it in a kind enough way."

Those who HEARD the Gospel and didn't believe it will go to hell.

That's the issue. I'm just a man, and it's ALMIGHTY GOD you will have to deal with.

STOP making it about OTHER THINGS.

Listen:

You're on Death Row, and you're under God's wrath.

And the simple fact remains:

CHRIST has ACCOMPLISHED salvation for his people, and everyone else is GOING TO HELL.

CHRIST ALONE can save you.

COME to CHRIST and be saved from your sin.

This is not about Wonkavision.

It's about YOU and ALMIGHTY GOD.

Well, don't worry.
I don't think anyone will ever say, "Wonka didn't make his beliefs clear enough."

You've also been warned because of your persistent behavior. It's not because you are sharing your beliefs, it's how you have shared them in a way that is disruptive to measured discussion and rational analysis. Obviously you believe the severity of your beliefs warrants your approach. That's your call to make, and if you're willing to get banned for it, more power to you.

I don't think I've "psycho-analyzed" you, I've just observed your behavior, and I'm giving you the simplest of feedback on how you're coming across. Did I mention your relationship with your father or tracked you back through childhood to show how you ended up this way? Argued with you about your type? No. None of that. Not much of a psychoanalysis by any definition of the word.

Jesus was capable of talking to people who were very different from him, and without any of the religious background. In fact, those kinds of people loved him. It was the religious conservatives who hated him and who Jesus openly possessed the most vehemence towards. If your experience differs from that, perhaps you need to really look more at the dynamics of how you relate to people and if you are accomplishing what you believe is so very important to accomplish. Seriously. It's clear God is the most important thing driving you, so I would expect you to be concerned over an inconsistency like that.

It is so distasteful when a non believer feigns belief for just long enough to profess expertise in the thing they don't believe in order to prove their point/ ad hominem/ etc.

Generally this forum is very much (esp the mods in my experience) biased against a belief in God and/or anything beyond humans = barnyard animals. That is, there is an inherent non-objectivism/ non rational approach built in to the assumptions around here towards "godlessness" (as if that is even possible, i.e. atheism is for all intents and purposes a religion).

Not that bias is necessarily a good or bad thing. It is what it is. We all have it for good or bad. Generally, (not you Jenny) anyone who says they don't have any bias is LYING.

The question always enters my mind:

Why are THEY telling ME that Jesus is so wonderful, when I'm the one who actually BELIEVES in him, and they don't have a CLUE who he IS, what he DID, or what he SAID?

Technically, neither do you. Jesus did not write the Bible and therefore anything he said could be falsified/glorified. Jesus may be as real as Harry Potter. This however does not make the values portrayed in the Bible any less meaningful.

The problem I have is how you are using absolutes with nothing more than faith. You do not know for certain that Jesus was a real person.
You cannot know for certain what will happen after you die, so quit trying to say that you do.

The fact of the matter is that nobody knows what happens after death. There is no guarantee and if nothing does happen, we will never know because we won't exist.

No one is feigning belief. They simply want people to be consistent with what they believe in. If you say you believe in Jesus and his teachings, then you should practice what you preach sort of thing.

No one likes the guy/girl who yells at everyone else to put the toilet seat down but then leaves it up for everyone else. yah I don't care if they leave the toilet seat up but if they want to complain about it shouldn't they do it too?

Anyways that is basically what Jenny is saying to Wonk.

Young grasshoppa, you need dissuppin..;)

“When someone is giving you his opinion, you should receive it with deep gratitude even though it is worthless. If you don’t, he will not tell you the things he has seen and heard about you again. It is best to both give and receive opinions in a friendly way.”-- Hagakure

Jesus Christ said, "Resist not evil," for He knew in reality, there is no evil, therefore nothing to resist. Evil has come of man's "vain imagination," or a belief in two powers, good and evil.

Absolutely nothing can resist a nonresistant person....:D

That's the basic gist of it. Most people don't really care what you say you believe, as long as you live consistently; live and let live, otherwise. So if you are outspoken and critical of others (to the point of telling them they're going to hell to burn for eternity), then why shouldn't you expect others to be noticing the inconsistencies between what you claim to believe and how you actually relate to other people? if these guys weren't preaching so much at people, they wouldn't be getting much tossed back their way either.

But as far as feigning: Yes, who says I'm feigning anything? That's quite the assumption. Unless Wonka and Greg are older than they seem, I've been on my own faith walk much longer than either, and the part of that which occurred within conservative Christianity was likely longer than either has even been alive. So yes, of course at this point, I'm not 'feigning' knowledge of the Bible, nor my understanding of the example of Jesus, not my commitment as to how I want to live life. Even if now it seems to me like the historicity of the scripture is highly in doubt, it doesn't mean the example of Jesus and how he interrelated with people was wrong or that it's not something to aspire to.

Christianity is relational, not intellectual.

So, it appears, for the time being, I am NOT under threat of a ban.

Which is pretty cool. I'm thankful that's so.

In spite of what some very imaginative people ASSUME about me, I really don't enjoy getting banned at all.

I do NOT have a MARTYR COMPLEX. I prefer to get along as much as I can.

I gotta give props to the forum. Some other forums would have banned me ages ago.

Looks like yer gonna have to deal with me for a while longer! :D

SO....

At the moment, I have no plans to preach here anymore.

But that is NOT a promise, or a guarantee. I just have no plans at the present moment.

All in all, I enjoy this forum. It's pretty stimulating and I'd like to stick around.

Thanks for your time,

You're hardly a handful.

By all means preach away; however, it will fall on deaf ears because you are unwilling to take other perspectives into account.

If you want a reenactment, just go to church tomorrow. The more conservative and condescending the better.

That bad, huh?

I think I'll give it a miss ;<
