i posted these on another forum too. i'm just bored.

don't answer all of them if you don't want to and there's no agenda.

1. is there a problem with the character/mindset/values of people who hold opposing political views to you? if yes, describe.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?

3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?

1: I make very few enemies. I've realised over the years that there is sense in everyone, and shutting off from them never gets anyone anywhere.

2: Yes and no. Some years ago, I started to listen to a 60/70s musician, which became my absolute favorite except for Pink Floyd. Turned out he died an alcoholic. (he wasn't really famous at the time of his death).

3: No. Sex is the physical act of love. I could never hurt anyone in that sense, even if they wanted me to.

4: Rough question. Both I suppose, since they intertwine.

5: 1960s. Great music and a living stage.

Pre-history first, then explore the ancient times, and make my way up to the 99th century, which would be the future. According to my observations, find a time to live in, but do not go back where I'm living now. Probably. Because it's interesting.

Ain't answering other questions due to the lack of options or because they are just dumb for my mindset due to the obvious (for me) answers. I believe quite some people should think the same.

It's spelled "Questions," damn you!

1. People are too confident in their positions. I'm a chronic fence sitter, not because I don't want to disagree, but because I do not want to agree with an incorrect position. My main criticism of other people's positions is that they assume opposing values are meaningless. I see this constantly in left vs right wing politics on both sides.

2. No. I would probably cry if Devin Townsend died. /edit/: might go watch him on youtube right now ;)

3. It depends on how much cutting/bleeding would be involved, and how much I enjoyed it (I am inexperienced in the matter). I am not strongly motivated by sex, so I'd probably have to really value the person if I were to keep on doing it without enjoying it.

4. This would rid the world of a whole lotta problems. Also some of the people I like. It would not be romantic, I would be sad tho.

5. I'd go meet Jesus. I hear he had some pretty cool party tricks.

No, no problem, machine rule is inevitable.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?
Oh yes I'm always very much affected, sometimes I just can't stop laughing.

3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?
Only if they do the same for me with their teeth and nails.

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?
Depends entirely on her willingness to share my dream of repopulating the earth with robots.

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?
Fuck the past, I want to go to the future!

Actual politics? I don't have many strong political views and don't really inquire for others' views to have anything to be opposed to. A person's political views only become a problem when those views transfer into negative treatment towards myself.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?

If I have it's never been noticeable. Mitch Mitchell died the same time I was really getting into The Experience, so that was kind of weird.

3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?

Probably not, at least not on the spot.

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?

I think it has to be someone I was already sentimental towards to be romantic. Sexual attraction has nothing to do with that. Depressing, though I think I could adapt.

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?

1960s. For the culture.

i suppose i could have adapted the thread to be more suitable to the general tenor of this forum by posing questions like, "what is a typical day like in the life of a misunderstood genius such as yourself?" but i decided to just stick to things that i thought were more interesting.

You answered the only question I deemed uninteresting, and I answered all the questions you deemed unworthy. XD

1. No. I only have a problem when others undermine my character/mindset/values.

2. Yes. Somewhat recently...George Carlin. The emotional response was more of a, "Oh, that sucks". But it was genuine nonetheless.

3. No. Time to find a new romantic partner.

4. Both. Romantically because we would have a unique bond that no person on this Earth would ever experience. Depressing since we would share this unique bond by default.

5. I would visit and guide my younger self (hopefully for the better). Possibly fuck with others too.

1) yes, they are out of touch with human nature and so they create a world that is out of touch with human nature. society has forced each of us to be in conflict with (our) nature, but some, like myself, would make big efforts to heal this perversion. but they don't even realize the problem, they deny it and they want to continue it.

2) probably not. "genuine and emotional", yes maybe, but what is "affected" ? - i don't think so. the candidates would probably be philosophers or leaders, people who did apparently love humanity enough to live accordingly and have an effect. why? i guess it's something like "loving back", thankfulness, sadness, maybe some shame, not sure tough. i could also see myself getting a little heated/shocked about assassinations or such.

3) no. i am schizoid which is like the opposite of borderline. i generally don't allow myself to be dragged into pointless duality, they don't allow themselves to transcend out of it. it doesn't have to come to crazy sex for me to run away from a borderline temperament.

4) primarily romantic. the depressing aspect isn't all that much more depressing than the regular facts of life.

5) can't say something comes to mind immediately. but i am interested in the psychological development of humanity, so i would go somewhere pretty early. i often wonder about the mentality of people who have nothing better to do than to kill each other with swords. if i went for that, i would go for early bronze time, when we had the first swords in serial production. otherwise i would go earlier, to times when we still had very different species around, like dwarves and we were much closer to animals. another interesting period would be that of atlantis. watch the aliens manipulate our genes, and shit, lol ;)

what, am i supposed to go back and kill hitler? i don't care for this genre of powerhouse manipulations. at best, the message of this genre is to reflect on the futility of will power, not "how to get it right". besides, the fuhrer has made it very clear, that he won't have himself killed before his war is decided.

I strongly suspect that there must be, the idiots.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?

Ray Bradbury passed just this last week and I felt like I could cry, that welling up feeling where you don't have to fight to not cry but you don't cry either. I am not a tearful person at all, it is very rare that I feel like that and usually if I do it is so overwhelming that I sob uncontrollably. So it was sort of odd to just have this heaviness like I might cry but have it not happen either without trying to not make it happen. I was pretty sad about it the whole day.

What saddened me so much was the fact that anything, everything else which was still in his beautiful mind is now lost forever.

I suppose that could be interesting but wouldn't it be boring if it was an every time sort of thing? Also, they better be cleaning up the mess.

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?

I hope they are more than just sexually attractive. They better not be annoying.

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?

All of them. Because.

I judge people for holding a different political view if their view is based on emotionality or the bible told them so. Usually injustice and hysteria ensue when people decide that they will do anything to discredit anyone who holds opposing political views. We saw what happened with McCarthyism- the execution of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg due to a nation caught up in hysteria over communism. When people hold extremist views without any evidence to back up their views, this reflects badly on their intelligence. I personally enjoy debating political theory and can argue the validity of theories without judging the character of the person for holding an opposing view. In fact, I respect someone who could back up their positions.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?

Not that I can recall.

3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?

I don't care how good the sex is because it won't outweigh the amount of times I will get anally raped in prison after being convicted of manslaughter when I inevitably screw up by cutting too deep since I am clumsy.

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?

Depressing.

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?

Don't know. Maybe Florence during the Renaissance?

1. They're either immune to logical arguments, are incapable of making them, or lack sufficient perspective.

2. Not yet, but when Mandela finally croaks...

3. :D

4. Neither. More "this is simultaneously cool and sad, now let's fuck".

5. I'm a fan of pre-colonial North America. ~1300 A.D. 100 years should be enough to lead the continent against the pending invasion.

In regard to that last question?

Do I get to be immortal and immune to the physical elements or the universe?

If so, forget human history, why don't we just go back to the BANG and watch the whole thing.

Can I speed things up when I wish? To get through lulls and stuff? And go back again to re observe from a different angle?

If I could go back in time, and were immortal and had a body not affected by the chaotic physics of the universe I could, conceivably, witness everything from the birth to the death of this universe.

Yes. They are different/they care.
2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?
No.
3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?
Only if they are willing to do the same to me.
4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?
It is quite depressing as all of humanity will be sterile by the third or fourth generation because of all the incest. I don't have a problem with this, however.
5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?
I would travel 5000 years into the future and hope that the collective conscious has been created/evolved (fat chance on the latter) so that I may become one with it.

EDIT: Oh oh past. I would go to ancient Mesopotamia/Egypt/Greece and witness the aliens help them build their wonders.

1. I don't think there's actually a problem, but sometimes I am a little bit amazed at what other people think or say. Most of the time I am able to put myself in their place, though that doesn't mean I always sympathize with them. In any case, I usually keep my opinions to myself.

2. No, although I can think of a few that would mildly upset me if they died.

3. Perhaps, if there was no risk on infections or dying, since that would be just too problematic. Unless it was a situation where it wouldn't be problematic (like, in the apocalyptic scenario, with no cops, for example). Oh and no guts or bones visible, please, that creeps me a little.

4. A little of both. I'm not sure.

5. Perhaps since the day I was born, but keeping all my memories I have now. It doesn't make sense but it would be cool, knowing what's going to happen next or something like that.

1. is there a problem with the character/mindset/values of people who hold opposing political views to you? if yes, describe.

People often build their worldview on a foundation of unwarranted, untested assumptions, questionable premises and borrowed narratives. This 'foundation' is often entirely invisible to them and remains unquestioned.

2. have you ever been genuinely emotionally affected by the death of a famous person? if yes, who and why?

No. Most of my heroes died before I was born. But I am sure I will be in the future.

3. your romantic partner can only be wholly satisfied if you cut them and draw blood during sex. do you comply?

As a licensed phlebotomist and also being of the somewhat gothy persuasion, I say sure....

:smiley_emoticons_mr

4. some kind of apocolyptic scenario wipes out everyone on earth except for you and one other person who is sexually attractive. is this more a) depressing or b) romantic?

It would depend on the character and personality of the other person, honestly. I would not want to get stuck with a shallow, narcissistic, brain-dead type with a great body. If that were to happen I would probably commit suicide.

5. time travel: which era of the past would you visit and why?

Edo period Japan, at least a century before the arrival of the Black Ships. I would like to see the culture there and also to see how a society that is almost totally isolated from the outside world survived.
