Pfness, the Columbia course looks awesome, I'd love to add that to my academic arsenal!
But what existing education/employment do you have that this course will reinforce, or are you simply looking for some sort of work after Colombia?
I'm not going to Columbia. I just included the aforementioned links as an example of what Knowledge Management is.
Well, for me I'm trying to figure out what sort of career I'd like to enter after I finish my undergrad at the end of this year. I double major in International Relations and Business Management, essentially a liberal arts education. I feel the only skills I've gained from completing this degree will be how to learn and think, which I guess are the qualities some would agree to be the hallmark of a liberal arts education. But in all honesty, grades show that I'm a poor student at a 3.1 GPA. It's not that I'm dumb, I just loose motivation on completing an assignment when I understand its intention.
Anyway,
I'm coming from an entry-mid-level IT background before this and I think I may pursue some certifications or go on to do a masters in IT (I'd have to go and do some requisite Java programming classes to gain acceptance). If that didn't work out I figured that something involving academic-like research and IT would be a good fit, thus my exploration of knowledge management as an option.
