I am and INTP--I drink for pleasure--hominid (they exist in many forms), and I am one of them. To confuse the young, I am sinister rather than dexter. Being a right brained INTP is like being chaotic neutral...with color and spacial analysis.

Chaotic Neutral is a great character, difficult to innovatively roleplay with great potential for fun and carnage, other than just being yourself.

I don't need to welcome you as you are already here, so hey, I will observe your creative chaos with pleasure.

I wonder how many INTP's compared to other types prefer True Neutral. In these games I have always been True Neutral.

I favour true neutral, so many possible options. It's a shame that the middle path is often omitted and there is this forceful separation of good and evil and chaos or law.

I prefer Neutral Good or Chaotic Good. I only do True Neutrals if I play an agent of nature (Druid, Ranger etc.)

How about classes? I usually prefer Druids, Mages and Rogues in that order. It's the same with their sci-fi counterparts.

Generally I play Neutral or Neutral Good.

Neutral can be played a few ways, and one way is simply moderation and acknowledging the validity of actions based on context rather than trying to ascribe to them some "universal value."

(It's amusing that my True Neutral rogue in one of my current campaigns is irritating the crap out of the Chaotic Good bard who keeps trying to befriend her. She sees me as moral-less and disinterested in others; I just look at myself as flexible.)

How about classes? I usually prefer Druids, Mages and Rogues in that order. It's the same with their sci-fi counterparts.

When I was young, I liked mages. Nowadays I like more of the "direct fighting types." But I like to play a variety. I mostly do Pathfinder nowadays, and my last few characters included:

- a Sylph rogue
- a human barb
- a Tiefling witch

I'll probably run an Assimar frost sorc next. Basically I'm trying to learn the synergy of builds + character classes in groups, and this is how I do it.

Let's turn it nerdy.

I act like a teenager when discussing rpg mechanics.

As character alignments mostly apply to the d20, D&D and D&D 3.75 (Pathfinder), my favourite from D&D 3.5 and mostly played class is a Swordsage from ToB.

Briefly it is a martial artist able to perform maneuvers and stances at the power level of a sorcerer, while having multiple meele attacks, high AC, high BAB and passive auras. Fits well into my style as one of the main motivations of a swordsage is to understand and perfect his style of combat.

It can be seen as a thief, fighter and a wizard.

My usual go to prestige class is a mystic theurge, that merges both the cleric and the mage professions.

Aside from that, the actual story and gameplay are most important, so I usually make custom classes and professions for each new campaign, depending on the setting.

Druids (power wise) are actually the strongest lvl 1 classes, with the animal companion.
While mages are the strongest core lvl 20 classes, without epic levels.

You did the builds together? My group rarely discusses and cooperates on that aspect, I like it when they are so different that they actually are an obstacle for each other in certain situations, both character/motivation-wise and class-wise, but that too has to be with moderation.

Now I want to play DnD again! I have the original NWN somewhere in my hard drive with a Druid/Shifter save. That Swordsage looks interesting though (is that featured in newer games?), like some sort of squishy swiss army knife.

I was mentioning the real D&D, the video games only adapt D&D rules to the program ;).

I assumed you know that, but just for the sake of clarity.

There are no adaptations of swordsage
There are very little to no adaptations of games with the extended rulebooks, the most base and prestige classes I have seen used was in NWN II Mask of Betrayer and the core game.

So if you want to play, why don't you find a local group of players? There are also options to play by text input or speech via the Internet.

I know.

Aw... that's too bad. DnD rules might not be the hack-n-slash like the Diablo series but the interactions and lore are quite interesting.

Tabletop gamers are a rare bunch in my country. Most gamers that I know play MMORPGs more than pen-and-paper games. I might look into the Internet version in the future though.

Always a mage, prefer Half-Elf. I like Druids too, so spell casters. Always a generalist. My INTP won't allow me to exclude things by choosing a preferred school that will then exclude another.
But I like Archers too. My favorite class is a Mage-Archer, so an Arcane Archer as specialty. There is something about bows. The pulling back of the string...I sometimes think I was an archer in a previous lifetime.
