I read INTPs tend to have avoidant attachment styles, I have also noticed a pattern of childhood traumas and/or being rejected by peers from this type. I would be skeptical of self-help stuff in general at first as well, but that does reduce its potency. Idealism ftw, maybe?i listened a bit to the guy talking about avoidant attachment. Interesting stuff, i would definitely fall into that category
