Does anyone know how to engage the INTP Fe function? I have tried engaging this function, but every time I do, I find myself collecting and analysing social information. What exactly does it mean to engage your Fe?

You can't "Engage your Fe" as a Ti dominant. What you can do is learn about the values of Fe, and try to take them into account before making harsh Ti judgments.

Actually you can engage it any way you want, but you don't want to do so directly as that is known in the business as an "inferior grip" experience. An example is having consuming dreams of fame, or falling apart when somebody gives you a compliment, or acting like a sociable, caring person artificially.

The proper way to engage, or as I prefer express your inferior function is by paradoxically strengthening your dominant, and then letting the inferior operate in the shadows of that. For an INTP that might mean taking on a life goal that does greater good for humanity, such as working to find a cure for cancer.

A bad approach would be to take on goals that have a purely selfish basis, such as to become rich, or an evil genius.

F is the subjective Judging function. anytime you make up your mind (you think it's T) about a subjective value of something you use F (not T), and if you're an INTP you use Fe, because your Ji is filled with T-data

if that doesnt help, alternatively:

if you just stop using Ti, Ne, and Si, you automatically fallback to Fe. with a little practice this will stop looking like :kodama1:

how do you stop? Ti and Ne are per definition things you care most about. just say 'i dont care' let it go. it's like the mental part of meditation without all the leg-in-knot-bending. basically if you made a judgement about something and you dont care about the judgement (find it boring) it's a good bet that was a Fe judgement.

remember F is a rational function, just like T. it's just subjective is all. Fe = logical deductions from subjective values of some_guy.
