I think that NEETs and hikikomori are types of people we're going to see more and more in the current and future generations. Introversion is natural, whereas something like this is a symptom of larger societal problems (isolation, competition/pressure, lax parenting styles, etc.)

as a result, some entities become superfluous in a society that has only one purpose: production. of those, some are introverted. some get involved despite being superfluous.
