Feel like I've shared this a lot of times before, but never bothered to make a thread on it.

Just interesting

http://www.uccs.edu/Documents/dsega...igation-Jungs-types-and-PD-features-JPT-2.pdf

Four pages long, worth the read/glance.

outtakes

(none too surprising really)

- Of 158 male veterans showed that IxTx types were more likely to have diagnoses of antisocial and avoidant personality disorders.
IxTx types were more likely to suffer from PTSD

- Of 100 male batterers, ISTJ, ISFJ, ISFP profile types were found to be the most common,

whereas 64% of 45 PTSD Vietnam veterans, had either ISTP, ISTJ, or INTP profiles

- The Schizotypal personality disorder produced the INTP profile,

whereas the obsessive-compulsive personality disorder produced the ISTJ profile

- The antisocial personality disorder and the sadistic personality disorder produced identical xNTP profiles, -Lol so I bothered to google Sadistic personality disorder (it's no longer used, but in older versions pre DSMIV,)
Heh, xNTPs win this, although it seems most might have inferred your neighborhood friendly ENTJ, LOL :D

whereas the passive-aggressive personality isorder yielded the INxP profile.

The paranoid, passive-aggressive,
and depressive personality disorders all produced IxTx profiles,

the borderline personality disorder produced an xxNP profile,

the histrionic personality disorder had an EFxx profile,

and the self-defeating personality disorder had an INxx profile

It seems most of these could have been inferred from type descriptions, typologically speaking, alone.

Type profile inferring

Of course the Introverts may be more affected (even more stress) by being forced into extroverted situations

Of course the xNTPs fit the antisocial, can't deal with idiots (jk...slightly :D)
although sadistic is...interesting? (tert/inf Fe perhaps?, along with Ne/Ti preferring 'individuality'), also win for ENTP most antisocial extrovert.

Ooh two SJs and and ISFP in male batterers...not surprising.

INTP with schizotypal, not too surprising

borderline personality for xxNP? Ha, Ne can't decide, of course.

Passive aggressive figured for INTP, that inf Fe yo, but did not realize INFP as well, perhaps the Fi-Te struggle (to note both share aux-tert Ne-Si)

Histrionic for the EFxx showoffs, of course

self-defeating intuitive introverts (INxx) unsurprising

anyway, just inferring from type descriptions, not too surprising, right?

"(psychologically) unhealthy," can see what you might turn into :ahh:

Regarding the xNTP and Sadism, that matches up with Nardi's and Drenth, on the xxTP is the least likely to want to listen, or to listen, and be involved in some "ruthless" politics (insert Drenth's Tert/Inf Fe link), and Nardi saying xxTP shut off access to emotions (limbic system) most effectively, and the most.

One last thing,

I've also previously shared Big 5/MBTI correlations, and MMPI(2)/MBTI correlations (*somewhat* related to Dabrowski's OverExcitability)

I'll edit them into here if I can find them, but you can EASILY find them with a quick google.

MBTI-big 5 (global 5?) [Interesting to note the emotional stability had very low correlation to either T or F]

MBTI-Big 5 (predominantly psychological-openness - Extraverted intuition)

turns out I can't find any studies on the correlations of MMPI(/2) with MBTI, but you can reason out the questions with type profile inferrments, just like Big 5 or DSM.

So we get a score bonus if we don't end up doing the above?
I like the idea of a handicap here.

Bonus score being "congratulations, it is somewhat likely you are less handicapped than others, and lack the previously mentioned neuroses." Who knows, you could even be...psychologically healthy :phear:

Assuming,

-3...Psychopathy
-2...Neuroses
-1...Neurosis
0....Neutral? 'healthy?' (lack of any neurosis)
/
+1.."Achieving?"
+2.."Triumphant?"

Idk

I read a book once about this very subject. It was interesting because, instead of accepting the diagnosis that INTPs are psychologically fucked, it argues that psychiatry has no "control" person to delegate what is and isn't psychologically healthy. It can only compare people to the most abundant and prominent personality type: ESFJ. Since INTP is essentially the opposite of this, we appear the least "normal" to psychiatrists and are therefore diagnosed with the most psychological disorders.

She went on to describe how this goes on in the school system. We're told being organized and doing everything in steps with little lists is the best way to do things. Study ahead of time, revise, organize, clean your room, make your bed, etc. I don't know about you all, but this isn't how I operate. This is the ESXJ way of operating (teachers are most prominently ESFJs) Again, we only are told this is the healthy way of doing things because it is the most prominent.

It's an interesting thought.

It's an interesting thought.

A good majority of people here share this same stance. (myself included). That all psychology has to compare to is the norm, the average, the majority, and therefore anything (anyone) who deviates from outside that average is obviously an "abnormal." There is also the problem of what the current society views as acceptable...in relation to their own society. Many-a-thread criticizing the DSM and modern psychology itself.

What can't be denied, however, are those traits that relate to caught/jailed psychopaths. And those traits that relate to those psychopaths and people.
e.g., negative traits -> lack of empathy...bloodlust...etc. (or criteria for being a psychopath)

We determine (violent)psychopaths and child molestors to be psychologically unhealthy because their actions are detrimental to society and individuals at large. It gets hairy in determining the traits of non-such violent people. E.g., who is to say how "sociable/extraverted" one should be (dangerous to introverts to force them to be extraverted, or force an extravert to be alone) yada yada yada

Which is why MBTI/whatever system is an attempt to better identify traits in people (this is fundamentally assuming there ARE shared traits among people), to help development of all.

The education system itself has a "general plan" for the development of children. If one fails to pass a course/year then one has "fallen behind"(the average) instead of being a unique character trait to that person

...and so on

I agree with what you're saying, which is mainly why I merely stated it as interesting instead of advocating for it wholeheartedly.

Regarding education, however, I do have a problem with the "general plan" for the development of children. Sometimes, knowing a subject should be enough instead of getting busywork finished. But ESTJs handle busywork well, so that's what we're given instead of more efficient methods of actually gaining knowledge. TPs are smart and motivated, but sometimes school squashes the life out of them because they aren't allowed to learn through the methods they should.

Just as a clarification, I'm advocating more for other people I know. I did really well in school, despite being an INTP, and I'm not just trying to justify my own bad grades. I suppose, rather, I'm justifying the bad grades of some very intelligent close friends of mine.

But back to psychopaths.

Perhaps we are more prone to psychological problems. I mean it does make sense that the more introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving people of the world would be the ones getting depressed, thinking up elaborate schemes in their minds, etc. simply by looking at what each trait preference entails.

As usual, I just prefer to get as many possible view points as possible. "Attempting to confirm veracity"

I may have schizotypal as well, although never diagnosed. Being monitored by a psychiatrist, but no diagnosis.

I do notice that I often slip into madness often. Most times, I'm able to break myself out of it.
