Am I an IN(T/F)P

Hi guys,
I was wondering....
So when I get stoned, I really care about my friend my other friends bully. I stood against the bully at some point. And realized that I cared very much for my friend.
... Do you think I'm an INFP under all my depression, not being able to move on and w/e?

A general question, but why have there been so many "Am I a INTP or INFP? WHY??

Now, to answer your question. It is your Fe, man. INTP + Friend = Tight.

I score consistently as INTP but it's been suggested that I am INFP because I space out a lot when I am talking and...am a girl.

I think there is confusion because for those who aren't hardcore Ti-dominant it can be difficult to differentiate between feelings and thoughts (Fi vs. Ti). You can be absolutely positive that you have Ne and Si, but what is the difference between a feeling and a thought? Are all these thoughts actually feelings that you interpret as thoughts?

INTPs who have spent large portions of their lives in a so-called "grip experience" may also believe that they are INFPs.

Ultimately I believe I am an INtP because I am not attached to any personal beliefs and always welcome new data to form new ideas. INFPs seem very idealistic and attached to opinions and I am definitely not that. Plus their forum is dull. Sorry. It is. I'm more on this tip:

So yeah...those are my theories on the popularity of these repeat fill in the INxP threads.

- Ethical things like abortion, racism, world economy, consequences of poverty, injustice..

OR

Is it really that simple though?
I see no point and get no enjoyment out of discussing anything on list #1. List #2 is my crack and I will corner anyone who bring similar topics up at any party so I can discuss such topics. But isn't that Te? And couldn't there be more intellectual/Ne-heavy INFPs?

I am not entirely sure..
I don't exactly know what a INFP would go for, but I am pretty sure that if you reject nearly completly the list #1, there are good chances you are INTP more than INFP.

i don't think that's a valid criterion.

If I'm reading this correctly he is saying that INFPs care more about ethics and attach to specific ideologies while having discussions about ethics whereas INTPs enjoy the process of exploring ideas and are not actually very attached to moral positions. I am sure INTPs would have opinions about the topics within set #1 but would not weight them with importance like an INFP might. I wouldn't take it so literally.

So getting high off tangents (where could it go) vs. getting high off idealism (also where could it go; in a different way).

i think assessing correct long-term values is a reasonable task for Ti.


the conclusion that there is no such thing as a fully detached (i.e. objective i.e. correct) perspective is also indicative of Ti, to me.


i like going off on tangents regarding holistic matters. Ti is holistic, yet Wsye clusters the more holistic topics as Fi topics.

Well, that escalated quickly !

The examples I used were exactly that, examples.
They were intended to demonstrate, in an obvious or even exagerated manner, the difference between Ti and Fi, so that OP could have a more basic clue about whether or not he's an INFP or INTP.. or even INFJ.

Of course, the boundaries can't be that clear and simple.
But for someone like OP that claims being clueless as under the use of specific substance he becomes very INFP-like, I thought it could help.

Can the human personality and all it's diversity, involving the sum of many millions of neurons stimulations, always be set somewhere in only 16 different profiles anyway ?

I have a hard time seeing how the Ti matters I raised are really less holism-compatible than the Fi ones (which clearly are, of course).
Nevertheless, I wished to emphasize, for the Fi, on the emotional consideration towards humane matters, as if the Fi had a more personal bond to these things.
On the other side, Ti seems to be much more inclined to impartiality, viewing these matters from an outside point of view, not a strongly engaged one as the Fi (and therefore, less prone to be interested by matters like abortion.)
