Disregard everything I said before. It makes more sense that the "stuttering" comes from a weaker articulation function, that is, Fe/Te. Not Ne.
Te isn't always serious-face, actually, I think Ti is the only function which forces the person to drop emotion. Te, when supplied with Fi, or Ne/Se...
I just realized what this thread reminded me of!
A few weeks ago, while I was driving, I had the exact same revelation (that I momentarily forgot about, also :o): "These people can think?!"
(Though as a consequence, I started driving more recklessly, because I assumed as other people can...
Well as an INFJ... INTJ. They seem similar, but are nothing like INFJs and their Fi is impossible to understand which makes it all the more frustrating.
EDIT: What SkyWalker said. Describes an INTJ's relation with me to a T.
This happens to me too. I can never find the right words.
Also, sometimes, whilst in the middle of explaining I start brainstorming for the appropriate words, and then I'd forget completely what I was supposed to say next. :o Talk about embarrassing.
I would say INFJ.
Not always. What you're describing would be an INFJ with a well-developed Fe. An INFJ with an under-developed Fe is truly a scary sight. Without Fe, they only have tertiary Ti to fall back on which can make them super-logical and extremely detached from reality (Ni and Ti...
If we go by Keirsey's model of subtypes here...
NFs > SPs > NTs > SJs
NFs I naturally tend to get along with the best, but they can get a little redundant with their limitless idealism and -- if they have nothing interesting happening in their life -- boring as hell.
SPs are awesome. Usually...
Dominant Ti is awesome. It's like being right is your default setting. Even at times when you're wrong, you always snap back to the most logical answer and have the flexibility to accept that and move on. I mean... how cool is that. Sure, Dominant Ni can give you amazing foresight and all that...

Is there really need for a distinction to be made between gay people and the rest of the world? Does same-sex sexual orientation automatically qualify one as having a particular subset of qualities, such as liking the colour purple, dance-pop, speaking with a lisp, etc., that make them...
This might be the only forum I've come across where I have to double and triple read some posts to make sure I understand everything that's being implied. It's maddening really, I don't know whether to call it insanity or pure egotism.
:smiley_emoticons_mr
I swear I could read this post several different ways and answer completely different things every time, but anyway...
Well, by comparing habits of people who I know are a certain type (through self-assessment or other means) with those of others who seem similar and finding common threads...
I think this is something all Ne types do, it's not necessary an introvert thing or extrovert thing. I went with ENTP because he seems a little more comfortable with Fe than INTPs are, though I could be wrong.
Anyway, practice typing:

Re: Harry Potter as an NT - recommended! (so far)
I'm only up to chapter 3 so far, but really digging it! Nice share. If only the real (fictional?) Harry was this interesting.
Actually, what happened during the 80's was the genesis of an underground indie scene. As mainstream music became more and more commercial thanks to MTV and other similar mediums, creative talent quietly slipped into the underground and has remained underground since then (except occasionally...
Ahhh, the OP is ringing all sorts of bells in my head, but I can't seem to recall what...
I think about pressing ctrl+z sometimes when I mess up in real life situations. It's pretty unsettling, actually, realizing that you can't.
ISFJs for me. :pueh: Their Si stubbornness gets badly on my nerves.
Semi-related rant: it seems S-types in general are less than enthusiastic to understand the N point-of-view, since most of what I say tends to get a lot of blank stares and awkward silences from my S friends. Whenever in such...
My ENFJ mother often likes conspiracy theories and such but I've never seen her lose ground with reality like I've seen so many others. She would go on about how 9/11 was an inside job and how Usama Bin Laden is actually an FBI agent plotting against the Middle East somewhere in the US, but then...
Hehe I always wanted to be an NT. How cool.
I thought about this in detail, and I realized much of what I was interpreting as Ne was probably Ni. I've never had difficulty focusing on one possibility. I ransack my brain for different possibilities, but in the end, usually ascribe to one...
This makes sense.
Another question comes to mind: would Fe-doms inherently always be more concerned about the feelings of others over their own? I mean, would it be possible for an Fe-dom to be selfish at the expense of others, and still be happy much like a Te-dom in such a situation?
I can...
I made a small edit on my previous post, elaborating what I meant.
But to rephrase: Fe's polar function is Ti, therefore every functioning human being having Fe would also inherently have Ti. What I'm wondering is, wouldn't a person having Fe as their dominant or auxiliary function also use Ti...
^ Hah, I had to laugh out loud at that. Great example. Very illustrative.
I have to wonder though, isn't Te very much like Fe in that sense? Both are inclined to be manipulative, so does it follow that Fe is basically like Te, but values/ethics based rather than logical?
However, doesn't Fe's...
I only know one INTJ, and I would consider him primarily left-brained. I don't think he's too left-brained though; he has his right-brain moments, especially when he's paranoid, he becomes very cynical and momentarily rejects logic altogether in favor of his intuition.
In terms of...
You just said everything I wanted to say, and possibly much more eloquently than I could ever have. How ironic that I should comment with a pointless, witless, one-lined observation on this.
Maybe I really do belong someplace else...
@Razare, stop staring into my soul man!
That is just...amazing and creepy at the same time. Thanks so much for the in-depth illustration, this makes a lot of sense now. I guess much of this stemmed from a general misunderstanding of the INFP type, as well as Forer effect to some extent...
^ Now you're confusing me. Aren't our cognitive functions what we "prefer" to use rather than what we're "able" to use?
And by that definition...aren't we all able to use a little bit of our unconscious functions from time to time, despite them being unnatural?
Enlighten please.
So after the reading the replies in this thread, I thought about this long and hard...
...and I still think I was an INFP before. Or alternatively, an ENFP (wouldn't be too far off), because I remember having a strong Ne that's gone down in activity in the last year or so. I can't discount...
Neutral Milk Hotel

Stars
Not entirely representative of my taste, but these are the artists I listen to the most at present.
This post is going to sound terribly self-indulgent and rambly, but bear with me. I'm just confused as to why my personal experience doesn't fit with the MBTI convention. And you guys seem to know a lot about INFJs, even more so than the people at INFJ forums... so... here's hoping...

^ Ding ding ding! We have a winner! INFJ is right!
Here's your cake, as promised
(I took a bite, I hope you forgive me.)
I'm frequently mistyped as both INFP and INTJ though. Dunno why.
Hello everyone. Thank you for welcoming me here. :)
I see despite my awfully charitable offer nobody managed to conjure up the correct answer. So here, I shall up my offer to TWO e-cookies, cake and a can of apple sidra for reconsideration. I hope that is enough motivation for you now...
So um hey everyone. I've been lurking on these forums on and off for a couple of weeks, and you all seem like nice people so I thought I'd join! :)
Anyway, I'm 18. I like music, artsy fartsy cinema and reading. I also like surfing the internet and listening to different people talk about their...
