Yes I saw that...

10% old photos of inactive, 90% blather about photos. Still, more than I considered plausible. Then again, what percent here are actually intp? It seemed to me that intp types would fear to reveal such private information.

There is also the "You right now" thread. All in all, I'd say a fair number of people, over the time posted their photo.

Why?

There are many dangers associated with revealing your face, that are more rooted in the possible circles of people that know you from real life, rather than the internet community, unless your personal data is already strongly associated with your picture (public person), or your forum account. All of the dangers of facebook would apply here, with each information you provide making you less secure.

Possible harassment, using information you share against you, building a database, becoming identifiable on the internet, etc.

Posting a photo does not increase your authenticity imo, unless in one on one interactions you also share some other information.

That's not really an intp concern; it's just a general concern which should be applicable to any type and frequently considered by most.

I agree that it isn't an issue of authenticity one way or the other. I just don't see why the op would expect intp specifically to be afraid to reveal such info.

Yeah, obviously, EXFX types I would assume would have less problems with it. But this concern obviously could apply everywhere. Generally intuitives can consider the future implications of the exposure, as opposed to the more social and extraverted personalities.

Yeah I've been told over 160 different people and around 650+ photos, not counting however many post photos in IM and Skype chats.. which would put it well over 1k.

I don't want to post my pictures here for security reasons.

It is a discussion about willingness to post. I don't think anyone particularly wants to see my face. I am not opposed, but I already have enough stalkers. I am mainly looking for, and getting, a lot of wavering IN over ES concerns. I see no issue with the thread direction.

OT expantion: in future does anyone have a way to avoid having real pics associate, or will we just become a world known only by our avatars?

Don't have publicly accessible photos on the internet so nobody can reverse image search you.

I was willing to post my face here because the risk assessment was favorable. Having no presence on social networking feels great, besides that I live in a kind of a shithole 2nd world European country, far away from the American continent and this site is kind of niche so the chance of someone recognizing me is slim. I've also met some people from here and I'm pretty sure they are not murderers or stalkers.

I am thinking in future your phone/whatever will tied to your face/i.d. Security drives a large portion of the I.T. World, so why would it not bleed over to the obvious...every form of valid I.D has a pic on it.
