I noticed there were lots of these posts floating around, so I decided to compile them in a list. Some of the links aren't "You know you're an x when y", but they still seemed relevant at the time. There are more links to some of the types than the other types.

Personalitycafe has sparkling user names? What the christ?

On another note, I'm not really a fan of those lists since they encourage stereotyping which si the bane of typology. I really have to work on this apparatus that allows me to stab people in the face over the internet. I always feel like doing this after reading one of these.

Stereotyping is bad, but the generalizations help to form a good idea of how a type is most likely to be in a situation. It's great for Ne :).

How can a description about a type generated by people of that type be full of stereotypes? These people are genuinely describing what it's like to be that type, and if none of that applies to the experiences of other people of that type, then we would have to seriously reconsider the usefulness of mbti. If the descriptions of people from a particular type are inaccurate, the maybe it's really mbti that's flawed. Maybe mbti really isn't a useful way of describing people.

The issue is about whether these people are actually that type or not, and they usually aren't.

Plus, sometimes people can share a type and appear to be completely different persons, because they've developed different opinions, worldviews, been exposed to different experiences, been conditioned differently by their environment and have different degrees of cognitive function development.
