The point is the future of warfare and thus technology itself is going to be primarily focused on robotics & AI, it's the next paragium shift in warfare, and with the ever more off-the-shelf-technology military (war has always been logistical, now it's becoming economical) these advancements will become more & more available to the average wo/man.

I predict the rise of strong AI in ten years, an extremely conservative estimate.
