Why do many Koreans and Chinese seem to think of themselves as the "superior Asian"?
When I go to Korean forums, I see a lot of degrading remarks made towards other Asian races, especially the Chinese and southeast Asian. Describing someone as looking like a southeast Asian is often used as an insult. Non-Korean (but still Asian) celebrities working in Korea usually face racism.
When I go to Chinese forums, I often see threads such as 'Why is China superior?', 'Explain how powerful China is", and 'Why are you proud of being Chinese?' etc. I also saw an interesting comment on Weibo in which the user claimed that Chinese is the "best race, backed up by scientific claims" and "has the largest penis among Asians".
It's not abnormal to be nationalistic. However I'm curious why so many of them think they're the best Asian race when I barely hear things like this from races such as the Japanese. I do know that most Chinese can be pretty extreme in their views. Perhaps Koreans' sense of superiority is derived from the belief that they're visually superior as compared to their Asian counterparts.
Curious to know what you guys think. This is just my observation. I am not insinuating that these are facts.
