Psychologically present is the only moment you can truly be in.
If you are in the past its illusion and future is illusion.
This stuff kind of confused me too, as many things we do kind of matter over time with planning. Very few things you can do here and now, will impact you as much as having a steady income over time.
Agency is the key. We humans kind of have agency over time. In the now we can do little things. That is just how life is for humans.
Pragmatically if you want to have a regular job you don't need to know the future.
You just need to sit and do your work, and be a good boy.
If you however want to do something realistic, you kind of need to project to the future.
And the past is your EXP point. You kind of need experience to deal with stuff. So while dwelling morbidly in the past is not going to change you future, it kind of tells you what you need to know sometimes.
I think this "just do it" "don't think too much about it""don't worry, be happy""Time is now" mind set is liberating and fun.
Unfortunately its also not doable for whole day. Its also a kind of consumer mindset and labor mindset where thinking and knowing stuff ahead is not good for business.
Unless you are the business.
Psychologically though its healthy. Because we can get stuck in our heads.
And actually never live in the present.
So your life can become this concept or meme.
