I've asked what types irritate you the most, but what type do you get along with best?

And no saying your own type.

I'm asking what types to you find yourself seeking the company of, which ones do you work best with, and why. What is it about the type that just seems to make conversation easy (or unnecessary)? With which types do you find your differences to be interesting, not irritating and your strengths complementary?

Anyway, I think I've asked enough repetitive, thought provoking questions. I want to hear what you guys have to say.

I just read gifts differing and they broke down the effect of certain preference dissonance on conflicts in marriage so I imagine this can be applied to friendships as well. Largest source of conflict was s/n followed by p/j, and then t/f. e/i seemed to be a relatively minor source of conflict in comparison to the other preferences.

I seem to follow this pretty well. Sensors almost universally drive me nuts, I used to think I hated feelers but realized the feelers in question were also sensors so I tend to be chummy with NFs. I can just barely tolerate J's and have no issues with E's.

Most of my friends are XNXP's. My best friend that I get along with about 95% of the time is an ENTP. Very smart, very charming quite good at bringing me out of my shell. We both view debate as"play" and are able to argue religion, science, politics etc without any hurt feelings which is amazing when you consider that I'm a bill maher style liberal; atheist and all and that my friend is a catholic neoconservative. All in all a great relationship.

Although I am going through a bad period right now, my friends in the past (some have betrayed me) have been an Owl INTJ (untrustworthy and secretive), Skylark INFJ (had too many of his own problems), Hawk INTJ (too busy and a bit vain), IXTP (better at detail, better memory, but much less imagination, lowish perception, weird), IXFJ without an animal allocation yet, Goat seems appropriate, ESFP Butterfly, ENFJ Beaver, ISTP Dog x 3 (reliable but boring). Best was a compatible IXTP (but lowish perception).

Girlfriends have been a Bear ISFP (miserable failure), Ferret ENFP (broken up by Horsemen ESFJ, Wolfmen ENTJ and Bears ISFP), Pony ESFJ (disaster, mitigated by my lack of enthusiasm), excluding one night stands and teenage flings. XXFJ never got started because of her boyfriend and more importantly her Father (could have married this one: hindsight says it would be best if a little boring). Very homely. Nearer INFJ Skylark.

Flying types are best. INXX. Sensors are very tricky. No Irrationals (SF) or Guardians (SJ).

Ferrets (ENFP) are clear favourites for girlfriends, but there are problems as these types are very popular.

I haven't met too many different types, but I can theorize. I've had a lot of NF friends, particularly INFPs and one remarkable ENFP. And my sister, who I'm close with, is an IxFP.

As you can see, I'm very T deprived. No one to have obscure intellectual discussions with...

Yeah, I agree with most of you on the issue of S/N differences. I find those to be the most difficult in friendships or relationships. I get along best with other NTs or NJs. My mother is an ENFJ and we get along well enough, our biggest source of conflict is my 'insensitive' Thinking remarks. My brother, on the other hand is an ESFP, my exact opposite, and we absolutely cannot understand each other.

Generally though my friends are all NJs or NTs.

I have friends that have these types;

ENTJ

ENTP

ESTP

INFJ
INFJ

i also have friends that I don't talk to much, and those are sort of like this this

ENTJ, ENTJ, ENTP, INTJ, INTP, INTP( i think )

The ESTP stands out and is properly my oldest friend, although we spend more time in the old days we still do stuff. He's spontaneous and well, we work together.

I have as you can see 1 non - N friend, ESTP ( who share my spontanous, and is both Ti and a perciever. it works out.

my brother is ESTJ , sister ESFJ ( but we get a long well enough through hard work and love. :D )

I have gone off Ferret (ENFP) girls, they turn Weasle too easily. Weasles are fatal to extroversion ENTP and are a bit inhibiting for the Eagle INTP at the watering holes.

I just did not realise how much trouble they can cause. Aided and abetted by Guards (SJ) and Irrationals (SF).

I'm still debating whether or not to ask you what the heck all the animal analogies mean, Perseus...

Oh, you really don't want to. . .
He never gives very concise explanations; it'll just leave you more and more confused.
If you really want to know though, the entire "Dragon's Lair" subforum is his. There's a lot about it there.

My BFF is an ENFP, we get along great.
My girlfriend's an INFJ, which is fun.
My friends at church are... INTJ I think, and my dad and bro are INTPs so we have fun.
And another ESFJ friend calls me ADD friendly so we have fun...
Yeah, primarilly intuitives, go figure.

Yeah, I tend to make mostly intuitive friends, but I have some sensing friends.

My best friends are an INxP, an INFP, and an INTP (go figure. He's on this forum.)

My other friends are an ESFJ and an ISFJ. Despite their SJness, we get along fairly well. Probably because we've known each other long enough to deal with each others' differences.

ENFP, ENTP, ESTP, ISFJ, INFJ (the last two required some learning about them -- it wasn't immediately natural).

My best friend is an in_p, I think. When I'm with him, sometimes I have to take charge as we both don't know what we are doing.

Aside from my own type, I would probably get along with ENTPs, INFPs, and ENFPs the best. I can get along with an extrovert easily, if at least they think the same way I do (intuitive thinking). I also like F types because they are nice, they would treat me with respect, and they would not judge me.

I get along best with INFPs, but I haven't ever gotten to know another INTP well... I need to meet more of us in real life. I have good friends who are SFJs, but their S-ness makes me want to bang my head against the wall too often for me to say that I get along well with them.

Most of my friends seem to be xNFPs, and there is one boy who I think is an INTP, but I have one friend who I really genuinely think is an SJ. O_o And yet she's this brilliant, funny, thoughtful person who doesn't grate on me at all. She must be an exception.

ENTJs are really fun to spend time with and talk to. But I don't do well with NTJs in general because I'm too spontaneous and lazy for them. When I'm with NTJs I feel like they have everything around them planned out perfectly (including my role), and I have to fit into their plans or else! ;)
