I listen to anything but hard rock and rap. I really am enjoying country, but this is inherited from the Calgarian landscape. I find in country, they sing true. Not nonsense as in most music these days. About life and they way things are and how to just have a fine old dandy time.

But I just like to listen to the radio. I forget names just like that, and thus finding specific music is a nightmare for me.

Lately I've been listening to Dolorian's album 'When all the laughter has gone', which is a blackened-doom metal album (not to most people's tastes). Really emotive...

Also, 'Liquid Tension Experiment 2' by Liquid Tension Experiment, which has some of the greatest songs on Earth in my opinion (like When the Water Breaks and Biaxident). Instrumental jazz progressive rock/metal fusion.

Also some of Bach's piano concertos.

I'm really glad that you like it.

On topic: currently listening to virtually everything on Dream Theater's album, Awake, but in particular the epic Scarred. Love the intense vocals and the pipe organ during the verses a few minutes in.

i'm not much of a rock head, so maybe i'm a little late on this, but i've just recently gotten into Nirvana. some of their songs are kind of stupid, but some of them are pretty good.

I've been on a Porcupine Tree kick lately, and I'd almost bet money that Steven Wilson is an INTP.

Lazarus

Even Less (This is the song cryptonia's current signature is from)
Baby Dream in Cellophane

Porcupine Tree's amazing. According to how much I can relate to the lyrics and overall tone of the music, I'd definitely bet money that Steven Wilson's INTP. Hooray!

I'm currently listening to The Grand Conjuration by Opeth, which coincidentally happens to be good friends with Porcupine Tree, and they have a lot of common musical elements.

I like songs which have more than just lyrics within in it, stuff, that gets you to think about different things.
But also.... I'm a fan of instrumental stuff

I'm really into this song, right now, for some reason.

"The World At Large"

Ice-age heat wave, can't complain.
If the world's at large, why should I remain?
Walked away to another plan.
Gonna find another place, maybe one I can stand.
I move on to another day,
to a whole new town with a whole new way.
Went to the porch to have a thought.
Got to the door and again, I couldn't stop.
You don't know where and you don't know when.
But you still got your words and you got your friends.
Walk along to another day.
Work a little harder, work another way.

Well uh-uh baby I ain't got no plan.
We'll float on maybe would you understand?
Gonna float on maybe would you understand?
Well float on maybe would you understand?

The days get shorter and the nights get cold.
I like the autumn but this place is getting old.
I pack up my belongings and I head for the coast.
It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most.
The days get longer and the nights smell green.
I guess it's not surprising but it's spring and I should leave.

I like songs about drifters - books about the same.
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane.
Walked on off to another spot.
I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want.
Did I want love? Did I need to know?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?

The moths beat themselves to death against the lights.
Adding their breeze to the summer nights.
Outside, water like air was great.
I didn't know what I had that day.
Walk a little farther to another plan.
You said that you did, but you didn't understand.

I know that starting over is not what life's about.
But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth.
My thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth.
My thoughts were so loud.

Sheer awesomeness. My favourite DT song is Learning to Live though, because it's the only one of their epics where I feel that the instrumental section really fits with the rest of the song. Otherwise, it's generally a bit random but still great, and DT will always remain one of my favourite bands of all time.

And, I am a bit lost as to the purpose of this thread. Is it like a "What are you currently listening to" type thread (in which case I find the plural "songs" in the title confusing) or like a "What are your favourite songs at the moment?" type of thread? Or an amalgam of both?

This is the "Just name songs and rejoice" thread.

Learning to Live just might be my favourite song too, but it's just too hard to decide.

Currently listening to 'Chaconne' by Bach.

Learning to Live is damn near perfect save for that obnoxious snare drum. It has a good sound but is used way too often.

I know what you mean, but it doesn't bother me. Currently listening to something by Rachmaninov, in F#m. It's very dramatic.

I usually don't listen to this kinda music. But I really love the song El Tango de Roxanne. The Moulin Rouge version. I've been trying to find more songs like this one, but I haven't been successful.

It's back to the roots night for me. (If you go there and read Spanish, please ignore the comments, they suck for the most part)

Mi abuelo (my grandpa) by Amparo Ochoa. Could dance to that.
