vaetxh is probs the most current/future music out there just sayin
It's a shame this artist relies on dubstep breakdowns, because otherwise the music is a quite good synthetic IDM, similar to what I have heard from Autechre, but with much more atmosphere and ambiance.

Most of my continuing journey into electronic music is to find interesting future music like this, the more purely electronic the better. IDM of this calibre is, like, almost the musique concrete of the 21st century. Neurofunk, darkstep, and techstep also tend to have amazing sounds, but the music in those genres is usually fairly boring.

EDIT: I found this track much better than the one you posted.

i don't mind the dubstep breakdowns. i think they counter the experimentalism with some groove to good effect. i am more fond of his bouncy uptempo house/electro beats though.

the track you linked is a lot more abstract and free-form - which is cool - but to me has a less refined soundscape. on the other hand that doesn't say a lot because his newer works are ridiculously refined. i like pretty much all of his output.

agreed about the d'n'b derivatives. it's like they have one good sound design idea per track, diluted with rhythmic tropes too orthodox and repetitive to have the sought impact. well i suppose it works as club fodder but i imagine the artists aspire to something more. speaking of this - isn't pendulum the biggest waste of engineering skill ever? :(

if you have any relevant suggestions i'm all ears.

^ That is beautiful.

Suzanne Vega - Widow's Walk

Lyrics:
"Widow's Walk"

Consider me a widow, boys
and I will tell you why.
It's not the man, but it's the marriage
that was drowned.

So I walk the walk
and wait with watchful eye out to the sky,
Looking for a kind of vessel
I have never found.

Though I saw it splinter
I keep looking out to sea,
Like a dog with little sense,
I keep returning,

To the very area where
I did see the thing go down
as if there's something at the site
I should be learning.

That line is the horizon.
We watch the wind and set the sail,
but save ourselves when all omens
point to fail.

If I tell the truth
then I will have to tell you this
Though I grieve (and I believe
i feel it truly)

But I knew that ship was empty
by the time it hit the rocks,
we could not hold on
when fate became unruly.

So consider me a widow, boys,
and I have told you why.
Does the weather say
a better day is nearing?

I'll set my house in order now
and wait upon the Will
It's clear that I need
better skill in steering...

That line is the horizon.
We watch the wind and set the sail,
But save ourselves when all omens
point to fail.

^ Hmm, link's not working. Yes, Tycho proves the critics wrong who claim Americans can't do great ambient/electronica...

Com Truise is probably my favorite music to listen to these days. I want to venture forth to other thing, but end up listening to him for hours. I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head.
