I mean assuming you are a human and you will probably not live that long you can do just few things in life. I mean you can do millions of little things, but just few meaningful things during life.

So what is your end game?

1) become a master of my craft 2) use this mastery in an aesthetically and intellectually appealing way to become rich 3) live as a financially independent flaneur

My goal was to reach stage 3 at the age of 33 (which gives me about 4 years to go) – though I realized this time frame is probably a bit too ambitious and has to be extended by a few years

Do shit that matters to me. I do have a few ideas, but we'll see if they work out. I don't really have any grand plans for my life, just finding people I enoy being with and spending time with (which is kinda a big task in itself), living in a way and place that's fairly tranquil. Trying out a few hobbies to see if they are something I'd enjoy. Stuff like that. I'm mostly aiming at being at peace and doing what I enjoy and find a way of living that's more positive in nature than cynical and detached.

For some years now I've been working on a tele-presence robot that I want to put on kickstarter, recently I purchased a lathe and I'm waiting on it being ready for pickup, I'm also in the process of getting some parts made out of 10mm thick HPDE panels by a local company and their CNC router. The robot is like a mermaid but with segway wheels instead of a tail fin, slap some robotic arms on a mannequin with its feet bolted to a hoverboard and you've basically got the idea, but y'know better than that.

This relates to my endgame in that I want to pursue life extension by technological means, replacing my body's inevitably failing life sustaining processes with artificial life support systems that can be meticulously maintained and have layers of redundancy. Of course this won't prevent the senescence of my brain meats but keeping my brain in stable/optimal conditions should keep me going at least a few decades past my natural lifespan. With the ever increasing rate of technological development I'm hoping that will be long enough for other life extension technologies to be developed that will enable me to cheat death longer, and so on and so forth hopefully forever.

Life support systems tend to be bulky and heavy and the longer you live the more likely you are to be hit by a bus so instead of trying to develop a mobile life support system it seems like a better idea to keep my brain in one place (like a bunker under a granite mountain) from which I can control robotic bodies remotely via the global telecommunications network.

1) become a master of my craft 2) use this mastery in an aesthetically and intellectually appealing way to become rich 3) live as a financially independent flaneur
Great plan what's your craft?

Dying with no regrets and a clean conscious. It also depends on whether I have children at this point too. I also want to write something philosophical about time, and something about the philosophy of history.

How about procedurally generated music and lyrics?
Make a program that lets you set a bunch of parameters that define how closely the generated song should sound like a certain musician or genre or a combination thereof, and give it a text document to refer to for lyrics, anything from a phrase or two, to an entire novel and then have parameters for what it should select for from that source.

What does 30% heavy metal, 30% classical and 40% Bob Marley sound like with lyrics sourced from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" that have some association with the keywords "Professor Snape".

It'll probably sound terrible but wouldn't it be fun to play with? :D

@Cognisant thats a pretty cool idea. I know there have been somewhat successful attempts at building neural nets that can create classical music, but never seen one that can combine different genres. Would be very interesting to hear the result

I used to want to do a lot of things. Nowadays my work takes priority over everything else. It also helps that my work is more interesting than anything I'd do if left to my own devices.

The few things I'd make sure to do would be ensure that I'm able to continue doing interesting, open-ended, challenging work that requires you to assimilate a lot of knowledge in a short span of time.

Also, one day, I really wanna be a Dad.

For me its satisfying curiosity, having fun, doing something useful and productive and possibly just enjoying few longterm achivements.
