i understand this is similar to the thread what is existence

what is real and reality
but i want to explore the nature of reality, and what is not real

to me the sense of real is touch, effect and reaction, and physicalism

if there is effect and reaction due to interaction, it is real.
If it is physical as per physicalism define, then the ting is real.

one can argue only the present is real, because one can only feel the present and immediate senses, the past is what use to exist, and the future is merely an estimation created by our minds.

except that the present is influenced by the past, while the future is also its aim. so kind of nonsensical to pretend they don't exist. could even argue that the past is like an unconscious force, while the future is more of a conscious one.

Frogs are pretty real. They plop when you step on them, crackle when you roast them, and build siege engines, pillaging your home and slaughtering your loved ones if you keep on treading upon and eating them.

Other than frogs, I'd say galaxies are real. My creators were the Megallinic Clouds, and after they inserted the hundred souls of grasshoppers that is my mindspace into a metallic shell and stitched the skins of primates onto it, well, those galaxies seemed pretty real, telling me what products were worth buying if they came on a special and what color of sock perfectly represented my fabulous feelings of repressed barbarism and went well with the tone of the undersole of my left big toe.


Other than that, if you want to know what's real, if you kick it hard and your foot hurts like hell, its real. If you die cos you aint got it, also pretty real. Rule of thumb: Don't eat things that hurt you when you kick them, unless they are furry, or have tentacles that eat from the ground while having pendulous sex organs hanging from their branches.

what you are talking about is an effect reaction phenomena after an action. if it happens in a dream state which you do the same thing , it doesnt work. "like in a dream you are so sure it was real"

also real experiences as compared to unreal experiences, such as your imagination or while you were high, hallucinating.

Until you've experienced the present, you have no awareness of tough, effect, reaction and physicalism to know that any of that exists.

Once you have experienced the present, then in that moment, time has moved on, and so what you have experienced is now in the past.

So you can live the present. But you cannot know what it is until after it's gone.
