Psychiatrists and big pharma seemed to want half the U.S. population doped up on meds. So to them what is a normal human?

Do you think they are weird? What type of person becomes one? The nerd or the jock? Do they deserve their reputation as greedy pill pushers?

If I had the technology I would turn an intellectual introverted female psychiatrist/psychologist/scientist into a cheerleader type.

Normal doesn't exist. Everyone is fucked up in some form, it's just that the aggregate central cluster of individuals within a given society collectively identifies and occasionally persecutes outliers regardless of their specific merits, which may be more beneficial than harmful.

Having said that, meds can be surprisingly helpful, depending on the med and the individual.

As for who become psychiatrists... Yellow would probably have a lot more experience, but generally I've encountered 3 types: 1) Power-tripping nazis (usually brooding nerds with deep insecurity issues) 2) People pleasers 3) Fucking amazing badasses that give you ridiculous amounts of autonomy in your own treatment. 1 = pill pushers, 2 = pushers of whatever you and/or your loved ones want 3 = rarest of all, but definitely worth seeking out. They actually consider your input and knowledge level.

Cheerleaders are over-rated, I'm telling you... Look into ballerinas. srsly... typically quiet, brooding, and precise with an equivalent or better physical skillset.

I hope to god you're still in high school. No sane adult should still fixate this much on pop cultural high school stereotypes. They're not real.

Also to the underlined bit:
Why would you want to do that?
Does being a psychiatrist/psychologist/scientist necessitate being intellectual and introverted?
What would you think if you found an outgoing, airhead, "cheerleader-y" psychiatrist?
Also why, dear god why?

Normal is subjective. What might other considered weird might be normal to other.
No one is 100% weird and 100% normal. Humans are both weird and normal.

And why would you want to turn an introverted female into a cheerleader type? What are you planning to?

That depends on the person and society I would think. Who are they to decide? Didn't we agree that the number 1 represents one item? I think that's how it would work, then again I don't quite understand how to articulate myself.

This is looking like some bimbofication fetish. Visit Fetlife or something, and rub it out over there.

I'd tweak this just a little:
40% - "This isn't what I expected for my career, but I owe too much in student loans to back out now" (apathetic pill pushers who fall back on best practices when someone gets uppity)

30% - Actually follow best practices and field ethics by allowing patients autonomy and voice in the treatment planning and implementation process (effective professionals)

20% - Completely buy into the system and have little regard for patients as people with a voice, aka. power-tripping nazis (aggressive pill pushers)

10% - People pleasers (they take a pills-first approach and only entertain non-medicated routes when everyone insists)

Didn't you know? "Normal" is just society's code for EST(F)J. Everyone else is an unrepentant freak of nature and needs to be shot.

Type bigotry aside, there really is no such thing as normal. "Normalcy" is merely the ability to hide how utterly screwed up you are from the public.

Guys, this thread seems to be copy-pasted from other forums.
