Is EM wave theory of light incorrect?

Why do people teach that light is both an EM wave and a particle?

Are the two theories compatible?

What is your understanding of light?

EDIT: I understand now, light is waves of electromagnetic field. Photon theory is an extension of EM wave theory.

The way I conceive of the world at this point is that particles are essentially waves in the fabric of space which are wound up within themselves. Each of these waves is moving at the speed of light (the maximum speed at which space oscillates) in a loop. A photon moves forward at lightspeed when uninhibited because it is a free wave - one which isn't looped in on itself.

The observed duel nature of electromagnetism could be explained by several scenarios, but I think the underlying principle may be that different rates/directions of oscillation are what cause different properties in a wave/particle. Magnetism seems to be the polar opposite of electricity, geometrically speaking, but it is likely they both result from a single multi-directional (perhaps multi-layered) wave phenomenon.

The second video i am just using for the blue diagram. You don't need to watch it as it is just the same thing as above.

Obviously consciousness does affect the wave and make it a solid particle as some loopy scientists believe.

The only answer that makes sense to me is that the sensors at the slot absorb some of the photon energy as the electrical input to the computer. Only the photons that made a direct shot for the center of the slit made it through since they are the furthest away from the sensors.
