You basement
i think the forum will rebound after a while,

most of the people went to hang out in reddit and personality cafe

but i admit reddit is the biggest stealer and competitor.
Sure, but I think people eventually grow out of trying to categorize individuals into confined boxes that leak all over the place and dont properly hold anything. I think we all realize, individuals are individuals and can be only regarded as such. Everyone has their own unique views, values, and perspectives. It's what makes a person's identity truly of importance. The categorizations dont give identity its proper reverence.

Now I'm actually intrigued if this place will manage to outlive the social media giants.

Heh. Who would have thought?

People are leaving, because the internet is no longer a place to discuss ideas. The internet has transformed into a medium for putting your social message across and as a medium for transforming the world into your vision of a utopia.

And sell stuff, don't forget selling everything that can be sold.

In the mainframe.
Also, it is easy to figure out that the posts are getting dumber and dumber (again, excluding the ones who are active) by looking at the average length of the OPs, the average length of the words used, gross lack of conjunctions (lots of conjunction indicate thinking, basically), too many verbs (treating the forum like a social media website), too many Is (people getting personal all the time and not really discussing anything that can be discussed upon). Of course, not all the symptoms are visible but I am sure that many of them are.

And before you start objecting on why I am pressing on intpforum's essence of being 'intellectual' is because it was made precisely that reason. If you want to vomit about your red shorts or pink thongs, you can go to fucking Facebook or Twitter and tweet away like a lisping Forrest Gump. If you want to compare your financial dick size or show your ass or pop your boobs or click inane zoomed-in pictures of an innocent flower on your asshole, go to Instagram.
What a train wreck.
Length of OP =/= quality. In fact, most of them ramble a lot.
Average length of word? The irony of the second paragraph where you look down on people measuring "financial dick size" *Kisses finger tips*
I must have missed that lesson in English where conjunctions = more thinking. does that mean disjunctives = being less openminded?

The world is burning down and everything you know is fading away leaving you in a foreign land. As me for, I like to watch things burn.
But seriously, I miss the old internet where things weren't taken as seriously and the rules were "malleable". But the price of progress is steep, it demands compromise.

I enjoyed your post immensely, I hope to read more soon.

Well, back in the day I had time to come here and kind of hang out for awhile. Life just kind of pulled me away. I enjoy this forum. I hadn't looked been here in years then decided to take a peak recently and still really enjoyed some of the conversations. I just don't have the time to post regularly unfortunately.

I'm hoping someone will sell me a working Starship Enterprise.
