What drew you to MBTI?

Hello all,

I was just curious, what motivated you to try MBTI or attracted you to the personality descriptions?

Did you actually take the test (which I heard is really expensive, hence I found a less expensive but reasonable quality one called Turbo MBTI here: link)?

Or did you take the free one online such as those at humanmetrics.com?

I really didn't like the human metrics.com version since the questions were frequently repetitive. I think the shorter Turbo MBTI (website: www.turbombti.com) did a better version of asking questions only once by explicitly comparing introversion and extroversion in the user's mind in the form of a table, rather than asking him or her: Do you prefer to go to a party or read a book? Which is really depends on the frequently changing mood of the test-taker rather than the personality of the test-taker.

What were your experiences with the specific version of MBTI you took? Were some versions better than others and why?

Sincerely,
SJ

Stop with the not so subtle advertising.

edit: I didn't read the contents of the post only the thread description.

I do not like your attempts to advertise that product, that appeared in your previous thread as well

What drew you to MBTI?

I guess the easy answer is I wanted to know more about my type - which was INTJ when I first took the test, then I started to realize that I got a different type every time I took the test :*(

So for months and months I tried all different tests and just couldn't find a good one! I even tried paying for one and still it gave me a different type!

I just didn't know what to do. I tried learning about the functions and about Jung but it was all so confusing. I still really want to know what type I am! Some tests I am N and some times I am S and it's never the same P or J (possible to be 50/50?) and sometimes I think I am a feeler but most times the test says INTJ or INTP. When I do socionics tests it says I am ISTj .... :storks:

I wonder if there is another test out there, one that will tell me exactly what my true type is ... :pueh:

Basically wanted to know my type, then I figured I had to know the types of everyone else as well and on it went.

Oh yeah OP, I betcha the humanmetrics test is a lot better. Why don't you select one forumite and let him or her do your test free? Maybe more would follow suit if said forumite liked it.

Wasn't it called the Jungian Express? Or the Transpersonal railsoul? Or Autopsyche?

I heard it was the best test ever, definitely better than that shity fucking humanmetrics test in any case.
