for summer i use linen shirts and linen pants, custom tailored by the best tailor in town - myself.

yes, that's right, ive learned how to use a sewing machine. That might sound gay or whatever, but it really is quite ingenious: i absolutely loathe being in clothing shops so i just run through the shop grabbing all kinds of random stuff without trying it and then adjust them manually later.

No, thats awesome. My sister and I sew and I know males that are upholsterers - its awesome.

Actually, our entire family has a facebook page for a Quilt project where we are doing applique pieces for it. Usually work on it in the Fall.

thanks, birdsnest! i feel it's been a pretty valuable thing to learn – it's allowed me to expand my sense of style, and thus expressing my tastes and personality more through appearance.
