When you know you are near the edge of something very large, a gigantic truth, but you aren't close enough to touch it or even know what it is? And even if you did know, it would just be the tip of an even bigger iceberg?

Wait for global warming to take its course and melt that iceberg. So in essence, wait it out and see what happens.

Nice analogy. But... you don't go actively pursue it? What happens if it leaves you?

Inquisitive nature will make me wonder about it. Will I pursue it? Perhaps... but only for a moment. If it's mysterious and continues to tease my senses... I will drop all reason and explore different avenues in trying to understand it.

I think that if it is some great truth and you intuitively know it is some great truth, then it should be actively pursued no matter what the cost. The is logical.

I think we all get that feeling sometimes. The closeness may be an illusion/delusion and you may not really be so close. Unless you can force your way to whatever it is, it's an irritating feeling that sticks with you for awhile.

Of course, but what if you're at a crossroads where you meet two great truths... both of which are equal... How do you approach one without disregarding the other in hoping to understand both... but assuming that you choose to go for both, you only understand 50% of each. So the thing here is can you focus on one specific without being tempted to go to the other in fear of losing out on both truths?

I have an existential map. It has "You are here" w

This kind of thing has driven people to insanity before.

I'm not necessarily saying it shouldn't be pursued, however.

I hope not.

I don't know what I would do then. Seek what seems greater? But I don't really believe in a situation like that, where is there were two different things in front of me I couldn't perfectly learn both.

I was about to say you stay up way to late, but I remembered California has a -3h difference. Besides that, I was up to about 3.

Well, then... I don't know what to say to that.

You describe this truth as something you can't pursue or at least something you can't pursue directly. I suggest opening your mind to possibilities and letting your subconscious scan your surroundings. What was the tip off that gave you this feeling? Pay attention to it but don't try to grasp at it. Follow it wherever it leads. Don't put to much weight on any specific detail you may come across. Wait for your ever perceptive subconscious work on this problem for a while and see what it pops up.

I do this a lot. I think of my subconscious as the audience watching a movie. The movie being what my conscious mind sees. Sometimes the audience shouts things at the screen like you might shout out the answers while watching a game show or shout at the protagonist in a horror movie to turn around. I try to listen to it.
