Hmm I suppose the question could be "what is your cause?" asking for musical answers to that question (?)

In any event, I like anthems as a musical genre'. I just wish there were more instrumental anthems of the quality of The 1812 Overture or the Star-Spangled Banner

I don't really like music with lyrics. One has to listen to the words and poetic as they may be, one of the reasons i listen to music is to turn off that Word processor that seemingly runs incessantly within my brain. Unfortunately, most anthems contain words reflecting a social cause, body or group...

Could I suggest that we each post an instrumental anthem and a lyrical anthem we identify with?

I just posted this lyrical anthem of my youth on another thread, which made me think of anthems - thus this thread

I understand what a "cause" is, but can you be more specific? I don't see how you can derive a "cause" from instrumental music.

The Robert Plant con Betty White perm sealed the deal to be sure. When I saw that coupled with the Aviators I had just had enough sitting idly about. Frank Zappa and Brian May didn't need a fucking perm.
