You haven't mentioned http://romanticallyapocalyptic.com/?
It's... it's kind of... ah go see yourself! I think it's bonerlicious!!!

I remember someone here on the forum posting it. They had an avatar out of it too.

It was pretty good, I only stopped following because I reached the (then) current one and updates were slow.

Hey, nice you remember it, I found the artwork amazing and the jokes are that much absurd that I had to laugh for hours.
Now that you mention it, you are right, I became acquainted with it through this forum as well.

Soo, I recently discovered this website: http://www.comicstriplibrary.org/

It has archived the 'Krazy Kat' comics of George Herriman and the comics 'Little Nemo in Slumberland' and 'Dream of the Rarebit Fiend' by Winsor McCay. They were American newspaper strips from the beginning of the 20th century, but they are widely considered among the most influential American comics of all time. The Comic Journal has Krazy Kat ranked at no.1, Little Nemo at no. 5.

Because they're scanned onto the page they read like a webcomic would, so I'm posting here. Highly recommend (especially Krazy Kat :D:cat::D).

If you like Jung, Freud, dream analysis, et al, 'Rarebit Fiend' is a fascinating read as well. Eeach strip would dissolve into these dream-like surreal atmospheres as a means of delving into the psychic lives of quite ordinary people. Interesting for its time, especially in comic form. :phear:

http://www.dashshaw.com/bodyworld_prelude.html

Bodyworld's a (finished) web graphic novel by Dash Shaw. Sci-fi, I suppose, about a drug addict who discovers telepathy. Overall, I was impressed. The art is of a high standard for web comics (the colouring was really good to), of those I've seen at least. It gets increasingly experimental in its form as well, which is interesting. The main theme (hive mind vs. individuality) seemed relevant to it's medium (the internet) which helped for dissecting.

The tone seemed inconsistent in places, it came across as a serious piece then in a few places it would get a little goofy and unrealistic. I thought his female characters were too sexualised/ 2d as well, which is a pet peeve of mine. But, yeah, overall, if you like your webcomics worth checking out.
