How's it going?

Just wanted to say hi and that this board looks super-interesting. Now, for some cold, hard FACTS (and some warm, squishy non-facts):

Female
20 years old
Living in Arizona AGAIN (getting used to it)
cyberpunk FTW
net junkie
5'4" (because everyone cares how tall I am, obviously)
soon-to-be Navy Nuke

I've loved science since second grade, where I got to dissect a frog with some eighth graders. Since then I've dissected one more frog, an owl pellet, an earthworm, and two cats. I also love lots of other stuff, but I don't think anyone is interested in a full biography at this point.

See you around!

Welcome Lex, we've got quite a bit in common.
Where in AZ do you live? (it's a statistical anomaly how many Arizonans we get here)

Let's see, the last thing I dissected was a cow eye.

The last thing I dissected was a squid, which was pretty awesome. Never cats, though. Are you a veterinarien? Or maybe your biology class is just cooler than mine. I shudder to think where else you would have gotten cats. Hopefully they weren't your neighbours. People react crossly to that type of thing.

Welcome! I may or may not be taller than you.

It's not dissection if you're improving them :D:borg:

Welcome.

Welcome to this dark corner of the world.

I knew a former science-lab cat, a heavyweight feline that went by the name of 'Boxer'. He was used for zoo. students to practice administering anaesthesia, among other things, before being taken into retirement by the lab technician.

Had a habit of hitting people that tried to touch him. Not a normal cat-swipe, but a full-bodied punch. I'd like to have seen the damage he could have done had he opposable thumbs.

*imagines prac. lab full of gutted students and smashed glass*

I hope you're as interesting as Boxer. :cat:

I think I freaked out my lab partners when I kept taking the already dissected frog apart to try and see what else I could find.
It's not my fault they didn't actually want to teach us anything, but just walk us through the motions to meet some silly requirement within a requirement. I had the same problem when I started asking the professor too many questions about the microscope slides. It makes me laugh so hard when I hear people talk about how "students just don't care."

Um, what I mean to say is... dissections are cool and welcome to the forum?

I really REALLY love science. I am science's love slave.

(The cake is a lie.) But no, no cat parts for you. The cat parts are a delicacy and go straight to the places where I can get the most money for them. You don't just GIVE cat parts away...

And yes, the school system in the united states is a piece of shit that rewards maybe 10 percent of the kids that go through it at the expense of the other 90 percent. Intelligence is valued less than the ability to regurgitate what you "learned" before promptly forgetting it without really having understood it in the first place. (<- I hate that sentence)

And yes, dissections are cool. I'm glad to be here!

Welcome dear.

I hate to break it to you, but you don't love science, you just love mutilation.
Apparently, so does everyone else around here. You kids should really see someone about that.

My boobs are FREAKING HUGE. (As far as you know.) :phear:

And I KNEW that being short would be an advantage someday!
Prove it.

Also, don't mind Alisa, she's just a bizzly.

Would you still want proof if I told you my boobs were virtually non-existent? I'm going to bet you wouldn't, therefore your request for proof is less of an academic matter and more of a "I WANT TO SEE HUGE TITS" matter.

(To be honest, my boobs are normal sized. Not huge, but not invisible. Big enough for people to identify me consistently as a female.)

Oh Yeti dear, when will you come up with a creative line? Something mildly disturbing? Anything? Please?

No, I'd still want proof, but I also won't and never have claimed it was an academic interest.

What is there to talk about besides boobs?

So not even 15 posts in and her intro thread had already turned into a conversation about her breasts. Apparently INTPs aren't really that different after all.

You sound just like my lab partners.

Well that's all due to the efforts of one member, whose intpdom has been put in question many times.

Don't be too put off Lex, yeti's the type who would hit on a tree covered with ants if it had a convenient knothole.

I dissected a human.

Well, I didn't actually get to do the dissection myself (my cheap college doesn't have the money to get a stiff for everyone), but I got to see (and touch) the liberated organs. The cadaver we cut up died of lung cancer, so the lungs were blackened and tumorous. I found it very interesting, but most people didn't want to handle any of the organs.

It's all Yeti, my friend. Which, as Adaire noted, his exact specification as an INTP is questionable, and/or debatable.
