Apples & oranges, imo. They both have great qualities.

You are reviving and old old flame war. :)

Star Wars!!! All the way.

Star Trek is too regimented, squeaky clean and low on proper action and not far enough in the future for me (or not long long time ago enough, either way works).

Star Wars overall has a grittier and dirtier feel to it, what is 'Wow' for Star Trek is just 'meh' for Star Wars.

Just me and MHO, but Star Wars for me has a bigger coolness factor, more epic story, better action and overall better escapsim value. I get the feeling of a living, breathing, immersable galaxy in Star Wars, but I dont get that feel for Star Trek.

I like both. I haven't watched them in ages though, shit, I should download a few episodes of both of them again. Really miss it now you remind me of them.

I do agree though that Star Wars is usually cooler, way bigger escapism value, awesome environments and suits, great action scenes...

I used to not like either one, but then I watched IV: A New Hope, and some original Star Trek. It's hard to compare the two series as a whole, and not just because one is primarily a movie series and the other a television series; but Star Trek(original) is the better one, by a small margin. Small margin because I'm not really invested in either to have a clear favorite.
