As we all know that INTP's have a habit of emulating events in their minds and coming up with possible outcomes, has anyone ever though of actions to take which give humorous outcomes, which in turn cause you to laugh while still in conversation with an actual person while all the while, they give you the strange look that you are insane (run on sentence is run on)?

I figure with our constant event visualization/emulation, it is bound to happen with others, and I do it often enough to look rather...odd.

Random Note: I tried to use the term 'mental masturbation' in public and it did not turn out well due to others' preconceived views of using the term masturbation. Do not try it.

Yes, to be blunt. I too have imagined absurd outcomes to the problem solving thoughts I possess. I make myself laugh a lot and I am sure it could appear as Im quite mad to the unknowing bystander. I like to think of it as my mind being a rubics cube of sorts, reconfiguring things this way and that to solve everything, (even things that dont need solving). It is a sort of mental masterbation (a word I also use). Though, I dont do it too "stimulate" my mind persay, it is mostly an automatic function one I have intrinsicly in me. I seemingly identify with most characters in Alice in Wonderland. <^% its the absurdities I love to ponder the most. So I guess that would put me somewhere between the Mad Hatter, Cheshire cat, the caterpiller and Alice...... Believe me you are not alone.

Outcome simulation, especially in the negative spectrum, seems to be a specialty of my brain. It frequently causes me to 2nd guess myself, the most common example being the times I sit in my car or on my bike to ride away, then have to return to my front door to make sure I locked/turned off the lights. Coupled my absentmindedness, this leads to humerous situations at times. However, I have found it an asset while flying, riding, fabricating and working - as this trait leads me to plan for worst case scenarios automatically.

Oh, everybody thinks I'm a latent schizophrenic probably. I laugh to myself all the time. I visualize so many hilarious things in my mind, it's crazy. And I can never really explain why some things were funny either.

It's kind of sad sometimes, because I've lost a couple of interesting friends because they were just a little too weirded out by me. They were mostly S types. For some reason it seems like they just hate everything that's a little surprising or strange. Which is just... incomprehensible to me.

Yes, of course I come up with blithe comments which are hilarious to me. I don't rub them in peoples faces though. I'm unsure of your true question in this situation. Do I go so far as to enuciate this fact to people? No of course not, but yes, it happens. What do you mean bro? i can visualize many situations. This forum really confuses me. I feel like everyone stands on some pedestal wrought from god himself. Holy hell.

Basically, do other people perceive you as odd due to your emulation habits (assuming you emulate humorous situations and express your happiness through them)?

I tend not to express many of my internal scenarios, so the closest I come to that is grinning or laughing quietly.

Freeman, I used to keep it to myself as well. Lately I just express them when a conversation is lacking. People generally look at my in disbelief and say "how do you/did you come up with that?!" :D

Used to not like explaining myself, but after you do this often you wont have to. People will just know that you can come up with spontaneous thoughts/visualizations.

I used to hate visualization and was weak at it, needed to work with it to get it to work better, e.g. I played chess and after some years of study and play I got to at least average level. Later I figured it's in the Ne-function and I have the Ni-function as the dominant one, so no wonder, though it helped to develop that Ne also (and Ti, that it's a pair with).
