Me, I think that the only reason to use Vista (for me) would be to get a 64 bit OS (but there's still XP 64), or to use DX10.

Pretty doesn't really count. I'd rather keep on using XP, running smoothly on my current 2GB.

And just to make a point: My computer runs with three and a half hundred mb ram. Or in your terms: 0.35 Gig and since i have a good graphics card i could have all that fancy 3d and colour stuff...Which i don't, because i hate the hindering it brings in terms of efficient and fast usage of my computer.
And yes of course, i could use and appreciate a faster cpu and more ram and such but for the moment i am quite confident with my current system.

Vista 64 = FAIL. Epically. Srsly. It errors out so damn much you'd think you were using Windows ME. YEs, it is THAT BAD.

Next to no issues with 32bit though. The next Windows version will be 64-bit only.

Agreed. I, however, don't NEED DX10 yet, so I don't have Vista. I did however get a free copy of it through the MSDNAA program, so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the HDD space and the possible Bootloader errors, which can REALLY suck.

I think Microsoft secretly invested billions into Linux before publishing Vista. Its the only rationale I can come up with that makes any sense.

What for Vista sucking so bad?

The only reason I'd install Vista would be to play around with it.

Vista was a major failure. I had it about a month... but went back to XP.
Now I made another mistake.... installed... Windows 7 build 7000... But... It still looks a whole lot like vista... A few things are different... But still.... XP is much better

I don't like Vista. I'm a performance-oriented PC user and I see no logical reason to run Vista when it will slow down the things I do that require a lot of resources.

Also, I have had sporadic interop issues with a Vista laptop with my home network. (Random Issues -- which I detest).

For now, I will keep XP; I really like it.

I just got a new computer and (strangely) haven't had any problems with Vista.

But I just use it for gaming. All my other computers run Linux, which is superior for pretty much everything else.

If you're performance oriented, you probably know a thing or two about computers... You might try a lighter distro of *Nix

Also picture = priceless

I've dabbled in a lot of different operating systems -- I used to use Linux consistently for a lot of the things I've did.

That said, I have all but reverted to XP as of OS of choice for now -- every once-in-awhile I will do a gentoo install or something else and play around a bit. I've used to duel boot and have played with virtual pc and stuff.

When I was younger I used to run Linux a lot more; now, XP just has the computability I desire -- if I want something done it's quicker most the time.

My Pic?
