This is the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waMcoLnaWOY

Tyra's whole premise is that she takes the most crazy people ever and interviews them and actually listens to them and acts like she has journalistic integrity.

The whole time I keep thinking Tyra's going to jump up and say SIKE!

I watched another episode where she deals with 7 and 6 year-old transgender children.

What type do you think Tyra is? ESFJ? Anyways, I think a good deal can be learned about American culture from watching the Tyra show. Plus you'll get a great laugh

Your last two lines are pretty apt; that's apparently the online consensus regarding her type, and I can definitely see the rationale behind that characterization. I remember one episode in which she tried to lampoon and alienate Sasha Grey, which I found uncool. I like watching old Phil Donahue episodes, especially the one with Marilyn Manson. The contrast is just so compelling. Their lifestyles and personalities are diametrically opposed: hilarious. But yeah, you can learn much about cultural taboos and circulating religious dogmas while having a hearty laugh or three.

I like the subject matter, but I do not like the host's approach. Instead of explaining the matter in full, and then introducing people that are representative of the subject, she makes bold claims trying to distance the interviewed from the audience and then proceeds to put a human face on it (albeit slowly). I understand this is supposed to be entertainment, not a documentary, but I still find it a little abhorrent.

She does exactly what you described EVERY EPISODE. It's really quite genius, if accidental.

Would have been more interesting if Erica had fallen in love with and married the transgendered 7 year old.

She has some sort of innate bias towards belief in a particular improbable reality, this is profoundly normal.
