I seem to have two and only two ways of talking, one filled with technical lingo and overcomplicated words and enunciation (we'll call this my "smart" vocabulary) and the other filled with slang and slurring ( my "normal" vocabulary). When the two mix the effect is weird as fuck.

Now, is this something you guys do too?

Yes, I can definitely relate to that. But I've got three instead of two: the ones you mentioned, plus my own set that's a mix of internet troll slang and my own intuitive language that only makes sense to me but I like to say out loud sometimes.

As a comparison do you know that scientists who relate to the general public must take courses on how to talk to the laymen in ways that the ordinary person can understand. So on the one hand you have techno talk amongst themselfs and..lol, if they want to keep getting funded they better know how to talk to the wealthy lay persons to make sure that they (get it).

Or it may be the difference in how you talk to a three year old and how you talk to an adult. So no not weird what you said about combining the two, sound kinda interesting!

I'm very similar. It's really hard for me to talk in a big group of people because I never know how to talk so I'll usually just mumble (I rarely use slang) or use "common" language so that I don't draw attention to myself. However, when I'm trying to explain something to someone/make them feel stupid for their ignorance I use words that I'll end up having to explain after my explanation and enunciate every syllable I say. It's strange and the few friends that I actually have make fun of me for it all the time.

Kind of. I don't use these two separately. I usually use the more 'technical' vocabulary because those types of words are the ones that I feel get my ideas across the best but since I don't want to sound like an arrogant doucher I keep my speaking style casual-ish.

Yeah, in general, i can drop into "erudite mode" and bump things up a few notches, if the context is appropriate.

I am also capable of talking in the most casual, colloquial slang out there, and enjoy learning the new slang that's out. I think I end up shocking some people who meet me in one mode, when I finally shift gears to the other, throwing off their expectations for me.

I can mix stuff together if I feel like it, but I only typically do that when I'm with others who do it too. It's kind of funny, now that I think about it.

I recognize the two. I want to reduce all the slurring in the second one. I use the word 'shit' instead of 'stuff' way too much, as well as using fuck or fucking too much.

My third type is probably giving an array of words my intuition screams and using rather abstract metaphors when I have to describe something. For example; 'It just has a very... sludgy syrupy damp atmosphere like a thick, warm, moist cloth asphyxiating you.'

I used the word "vibrant" today in class and two people asked me what it meant.
Part of me died.

I try not to cloud my speech with unnecessarily uncommon words--it comes with being in a high school setting, maybe. If a word fits particularly well, I'll use it, but otherwise I'm all about being understood, not impressing. Though recently a lot of my speech has been made up of "herp" and "derp", and variations thereof...
I like to instill quirky verbal habits into my routine. (I referred to everyone as "female" or "male" for quite a while last year.) It makes talking less of a chore.

In writing it's different. I assume that anyone reading what I have to say is sufficiently literate.

I do the same thing. I think I would enjoy talking to you. :D

I really do love describing things/feelings/atmospheres that way, and hearing others do so as well. It's such a fun way of communicating.

I don't really use the technical language, and big words and enunciation, all that much, though I will slip it into normal speech occasionally. Mostly, I think, because I realize subconsciously, that there's no real reason to do so: why use complex language, when simplified language would do? If I need to use more descriptive/technical words for something specific, I'll do so, but I won't fall into another whole vocabulary/manner of speech. My types of speech generally fall into "informal, yet standard english" and "Vocalized internet."

I have two types too. One is the smart, "vocabulary" one you've mentioned, and the other one is when I try to act normal and I know that the person I'm talking to won't understand a word if I begin to talk about my interests. This means that I'm smiling, nodding and saying: yes, yes, uhum, I understand you, yes.

definitely. i have several forms of talking: fancy schmancy articulation i use to talk to myself, write, and use sometimes with my friends when we're having intellectual discussions; slang i use for almost everything else (inappropriately so at times, by habit); and a whacky, flamboyant voice i use with my friends when our silly switches are on
