Time for a career change

I'm pretty good at math and financial management, so I went to school and got a finance degree. I figured that there are enough possibilities in the field that, once I get bored with one area, I could just move on to another. What I found instead is a whole bunch hard sales and paperwork, and few opportunities in areas that I'm actually interested in. Beyond that, I've found that the whole financial system is little more than an elaborate Ponzi scheme, and I really don't care too much about money.

So, it's probably time for a career change.

I was wondering if any others on here came to a similar realization in their late twenties or early thirties, what they did about it and how it worked out for them.

You could say that.

Please explain.

Would rather not derail the thread with an economics discussion. You can see some of my economics opinions in other threads.

(won't derail any more). I just asked because it definitely was one of the main points that you cited in your defence of changing job, one that I don't really agree with (unless you really stretch it with elaborate).

One main thing to look into is if you are prepared to go back to uni or not. If you are, then that gives you a whole lot more options.
