Yeah, hi, guys. This is a brand new experience for me, so this might come off as mighty awkward, but, I dunno if you've heard, INTPs are apparently an awkward bunch, generally speaking, so I figured what the hell.

Wanted to initiate my mad socialization skillz (please hear the sarcasm here) and begin a thread meself. Decided I better begin addressing a smaller niche, which is my kapwa pinoys and pinays~

So ayan. Kamusta sa inyo. :)

(And hello to other nationalities who for some reason is in here, hi. We're [in]famously hospitable, so you're welcome here as well. :D )

Since this thread is supposedly introductory, I'm obliged to start, right. So. Yeah. Lemme use what seems to be the template here (or is it? any experienced people here who know?).

What is your name?

Call me Tricky. Which is a fancied-up nickname for my real first name Patrick. (There's a history behind this moniker, but let's leave that for now.)

Where are you from?

Philippines! Yay, mabuhay! (Note to non-Filipinos: we almost never use this greeting, except for foreign visitors. So me using this here is kinda weird.)

Specifically, I'm from the rural province of Alfonso in Cavite. (We're near Tagaytay.)

How old are you?

At the time of writing, 22.

(I just had to calculate my age for a while to confirm. Dammit, brain)

What's your gender?

I'm a guy. To be very LGBT-esquely precise, I'm a cisgender male.

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

Through many self-administered online tests, and self-study of Jungian and MBTI (and a few other related) theories. At some point I was conflicted as to my "Pness" (LOL at that term) and thought myself INTJ. I have concluded I am primarily INTP, but I do have some small sprinkling of INTJ spunk in me as well. (That sounded wrong. But it's alliterative so I'm sticking to it.)

How did you find out about this forum?

Google!

Do you have a partner/lover?

None. (Agony, misery, woe.)

Do you have any kids?

None.

Do you have any pets?

A cat, named "i" because he has a black marking on his nose-to-forehead shaped like low caps i. (Yes, I am aware that the name is kinda confusing when used in English sentences.)

Soooo. There. Hope to hear from my fellow citizenry. :D LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER, YES? *dopey creepy grin*

And to non-Filipinos here, I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU. Especially to y'all from the US of A. I've heard that Filipinos are/were known informally as "Flips". Is this true and/or still observable today? Because I personally think it sounds cool :P

Okay I really must stop procrastinating because I have a deadline to meet. But what can I say. Huge Pness, yo.

P.S. So I can choose post icons and... are those actual runes? I mean real, legit, Futhark runes!? I must brush up on my Ancient Runes, Merlin's beard, where's Hermione

But I would think of hotkeys for runes to be used effectively here. And it automatically cuts the pixel size, so the custom sized images would have to be used.

Using runes is dangerous indeed.

Only upon the festival of the goads, when reality itself is cast aside and re-installed, when the seas fall and the rains rise, will we mortals be able to fathom The Runes.

When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves...? Very well then.

Hmm I don't think Filipinos have a shortened label like that. Japanese people were 'Japs' and the Koreans 'Gooks', the Chinese 'Chinks' and Vietnamese 'Viets', but I don't recall Filipinos being called anything. They rather assimilated well from what I remember.

It might sound cool but the label could be used derogatively so it's a double-edged sword kind of thing. (like the word "nigger", if you're familiar with it).

Anyway welcome to the forum, it's nice to see another asian join ^^

I've never heard "Flip" as a term for Filipinos. To be honest, non-Asian Americans (unless we spent significant time with Asian populations) struggle to differentiate between "Orientals". While Asians may call each other "Gook", "Jap", "Charlie" etc. in jest, no one else (under 60) uses those terms. Most people only hear them in old war movies. Everyone is a "Chink". Well, to people who use such terms. I can't tell you how many people have told me that I have "Chinky eyes" while inquiring after my apparently inscrutable ethnicity.

Anyway, Filipinos here don't seem to suffer that problem so much here because half the time, they are mistaken for indigenous Mexicans

I've never heard the term "Flips" before either (aside from Flip Wilson, a black comedian from way back), although I think if a Filipino showed up in the backwoods where I grew up, they might be mistaken for Korean invaders a la the "Red Dawn" reboot and get pelted with birdshot.... *doh*

...We're notorious for thinking everyone who is not white looks alike.

(BTW, that OP is from 6-7 months ago. Not even sure if the guy is still around.)

i'm a prize in a cereal box near you, so buy, BUY,
i know op may not be around but i would like to throw my two cents on the whole "flip" thing, yes it was used for a while in the navy but really only among sailors who where stationed in the philippines or came to port there frequently.

source: my old man was in the navy, and went to the philippines a few times.

Glad to know a pinoy INTP bothered starting this thread. I wanted one but lazy kicks in so whatever....
Id like to follow your format here for a change (as we usually dont follow rules LOL)

What is your name?
Zumi, short for Azumi.

Where are you from?

Philippines. Im currently based in Makati since last year but I am not from here. I dont know where I am from really. Im from my parents?

Born in Manila and stayed there during my grade school and then moved to my mom's province in Pangasinan for high school and went back to Manila for college but I stayed in Imus, Cavite since the house in Manila got sold already by my grandparents and my aunt bought a tiny townhouse in Cavite. During summer and Christmas holidays, I would either be in Baguio or Pangasinan. I spent 8 years in La Union for work. So im like from Manila and Pangasinan but i feel so disconnected with these places now.

How old are you?

I am 33 and happy being 33 coz looking younger than most of my friends and classmates and other younger friends or even strangers IRL (this statement is so INTJ right?)

What's your gender?

Last time I checked I think I'm still a straight female. I like gays more than lesbians as friends.

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

Facebook quiz 16personalities

How did you find out about this forum?

Google!

Do you have a partner/lover?

None since 3 yrs ago. Lazy to date but I'm on tinder but then again, im too lazy to even meet with anyone.

Do you have any kids?

None. Would be nice to have one. I would gladly develop my inferior Fe for an innocent human being.

Do you have any pets?
None. I like pugs and pomeranians though.

There you go. Hope to see pinoy INTPs and other NTs. Philippines is so E and J, would really be cool to meet the pinoy wirdos and loners
