There is concept of shadow a type of unconscious part of mind where all repressed evils of mankind dwell, getting ready to be unleashed on to unsuspecting victims.
Mans evil knows no bounds and a angry man can kill a million.
The thing I like about the shadow though is that we often think of shadow psychology as type of self help process where we dig out some stuff that was repressed and held us back.

I for one certainly am repressed in ways that I think is unhealthy, but what I noticed is there is certain "bad" force in the psychology of person that drives us. This drive is probably to put it plainly just aggression.
Aggression or anger is our backbone of humans.
We tend to be domesticated and we have a very repressed personality in todays world.
It almost reminds me of this :

I was recently just browsing the net and youtube, and came across 40 000 K lore and started listening to it.
On one hand it seemed like weird dystopian crude power fantasy, with rather dark twist of eternal war and genocide.
But there was something in it for me. A feeling I rarely feel in more sanitized domains in life where people are just repressed and nice. It urged me to think about this now, and I am not a fan of 40 000 K but this world is interesting.
Whats more recently I watched a indie game play through with the theme of cannibalism, incest, and murder.
Interestingly the story was so well written that I watch a content creator Asmongold play the game for 3 something hours, and albeit not at all my cup of coffee I noticed something interesting.

My mind was fascinated by the darkside of things, and there is something behind that domesticated mask of repression that likes these bad things.
There is as if a part of human psyche that is enticed by the wicked horror and sheer will to do bad things.

What is interesting though we tend to act like this is not the case. We tend to sanitize the world. We tend to often repress aggression and we often act like anger is bad, we tend to simply put such impulses in the back dark room of our mind and just forget its there.

But I would argue the obvious. That these dark impulses are humans heritage and they are what drives men good and evil alike forward. It is what it is. It can show it self in form of art, or scientific discover, it can show it self in form of ambition to strive for outperforming competition, it can be transformed into many useful things in human life.
Including I would argue the drive to mate and seek adequate partnership.

Obviously there is some sort of modern day balance that this dark side was formed around where we tend to think that these aggressive drive is bad, and we ought to do without it, but I often see people and even myself succumb to it.

We often need a valve or some sort of drain system to get the steam off. In essence I suspect you all knew this and agree with this as this is nothing new. But what I found interesting is that in these dark thoughts there is something I am missing in real life. That is focus and drive. Its interesting how that works. Any thoughts, or any relatable stories with this?

There are spaces where it's safe and ethical to explore aggressive impulses. Combat sports like boxing, different kinds of anger therapies like primal screaming etc, kink culture if it's more sexual in nature.

For me personally, my experience of anger is that it's there to tell me that something wrong has happened to me or someone else as a call to action to do something about it. Aggressiveness or rage tends to happen as a result of either repression or a circumstance that has been allowed to develop far past the stages of anger. There isn't anything evil about it, it's more like "I feel wronged/violated/invaded, get out my face or I'm going to force you to." If someone learned to manage anger better and earlier it wouldn't reach a stage of doing anything hostile.

My experience with repressed or shadow parts of my psyche is that they want acknowledgement, love and acceptance. When I start listening to and integrating them they tend to calm down and become a lot less scary looking than it once felt.

If we're going full Jungian here, then here is the functional stack with which functions (7th and 8th, or as @LOGICZOMBIE said, the ID) :

And for the MBTI INTP -> socionics INT (LII)j:

Perhaps compare notes and see if this "shadow" matches personal experience.
So id is what we ignore and feel indifferent to. I am not well versed in socionics though I did try to test myself few times, cannot recall what I got.

Socionics is a deeper dive into the Jungian roots of MBTI with some added analysis (the concept of information metabolism) and the incorporation of some Freudian concepts (Id, Ego, Superego). There are strong correlations between the MBTI personality types and Socionics types, however the last letter in the 4 pairs is inverted in introverts since Socionics uses the "J" in reference to the first cognitive function in the stack. Judging functions are "processing" functions such as Ti and Te. Perceiving functions are "gathering" functions such as Ne and Se. If your first function in the stack is a judging function, you receive a J at the end of the lettering scheme. Thus, MBTI INTPs (whose first function is Ti) receive the j letter in Socionics. Or, you could use their own lettering system to denote the same type (LII) logical, intuitive, introvert (in reference to the orientattion [introverted] of the first function).

The Id functions (7th and 8th) correspond to functions that are unconscious and not valued. Every cognitive function in Socionics is either valued or unvalued, conscious or unconscious, and strong or weak. 7th and 8th functions are unvalued, unconscious, but strong. This would imply that the INTP (MBTI) would be a strong ENTJ if they actually cared to be and were conscious of its functions. Te and Ni would erupt to the surface only rarely (shadow self) and usually in response to stress, especially when that stress has been provoked by types that INTPs (MBTI) perceive as domineering.
