Firstly can anyone guess who my new avatar is and from what movie/story he is from?

Here's a hint: It was a horror movie, well for that time anyway.

Happy hunting

I haven't the slightest clue, however this change of avatar is subconsciously reforming my visual image of you. I must say, I like the other one better - it's just....just..."you"

When you find out who the character is you'll realise how perfectly it suits my attitudes, but I'll give the eyes a red glow if that helps you associate it to my robotic persona.

Here's another hint: The movie "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" was based upon characters from other movies, this character is from one of those movies.

Hmm. It may be hard to recognize you for a little while (it always is with avatar changes), but you're right, something about your old avatar didn't seem to fit your attitude quite right.

Lord Henry Wotton is one of the leading characters of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. A nobleman who is a friend to Basil initially, but later becomes more intrigued with Dorian's beauty and naïveté. Extremely witty, Lord Henry is seen as a critique of late Victorian culture espousing a view of indulgent hedonism. He corrupts Dorian with his world view, as Dorian attempts to emulate him. Basil calls him "Harry".

Some critics consider Lord Henry to be responsible for Dorian Gray's mental awakening, which ultimately leads to the young man's downfall. Blame has also been given to Dorian himself as well as Basil for producing the picture. He forces the naïve boy to realize that he is beautiful and admires his youth, "the one thing worth having." Lord Henry, who meets Dorian through their mutual friend, the artist Basil Hallward, has paradoxical views on life, marriage, and the world in general and is known for his witty repartee, somewhat like Oscar Wilde himself.

There is also an unmistakable allusion to "old harry" (the devil) in the character's name. Dorian refers to him as Harry and he is continually tempting Dorian and talking him into a more immoral frame of mind.

Appropriate, no?

The movie was themed around immortality and I can't help but think that Henry could have made far better use of it that the boyish Dorian Gray. I only recently saw the movie and was surprised by how easy the character was to relate to, his "paradoxical" ideas seem perfectly normal to me. And I'll give the eyes a red glow, just to make the transition easier.

Should we expect you to set precious stones on turtles or seduce innocent actresses?

@Cog

I see...

I must say, just by your description of it, I want to go watch this movie. :D And I guess this does fit you better. I use my avatar for the same reason - it reflects what I feel like internally almost perfectly.

Are you implying that there are innocent girls here that would be seduced by my dark yet intriguing persona? And precious stones look soo much better when set in gold and laid around the necks of beutiful girls.

Turtles are best used for soup.

...That's why she fell in love with Dorian Grey and latter kills herself.

Henry (may avatar) laments her death as an unfortunate waste, but not an overly concerning one.

Damn one less pretty girl in the world,
and she had such a nice voice too. -My supposed reaction

 <------- this guy is looking at me too, and I don't think he likes what he sees.
