Trustable: someone possessing any kind of information about you, aware that you don't want them to tell it to anyone. Anyone!

Goal: type that is least likely to break that trust by telling it to anyone for ANY reason: torture, emotional decision, rational decision, authority, anything.

And I mean any info: that you've slept with your grandmother, that you've killed the US president, that you're going to commit suicide, that you're about to bomb a school. ANY kind of information.

Myself - although at times, even this is a massive gamble.

Most trustable type, hmm... an INTP on a non-misanthropic day.

On a misanthropic day, they'll be genuinly honest and tell you to fuck off, in which case you should realise humans are never trustable. That being said, I'm the exception which confirms the rule.

Under the parameters you've set it would be more to do with whether or not their values are in line with yours e.g. if they wanted the president dead anyway, or they viewed your choice to commit suicide as, 'your choice' then the chances of them telling someone are probably less.

I highly doubt that MBTI type relative to trustworthiness could be realistically applied to those scenarios.

So you don't agree than an ENFP is less trustable than an INTP? :D

*whoops, sorry, I shouldn't have told you that!*

but by this reasoning, you could argue that one particular type is more likely to contain psychopaths, rapists, liars, etc. Which has never been proven.

Trustworthiness isn't covered by MBTi

I hate it when people apply this logic: "but it's not everyone" or "but everyone is." Start doing some damn differentiating, will ya? That huge picture is annoying and meaningless due to being implicit. :elephant:

OK...

Being a particular type does not make you less trustworthy. It just shows how a particular person will probably execute their untrustworthiness. Or to put it another way, how they will spread the secret around.

For example, the least likely types to spread a secret in public are more than likely going to be introverts due to their lack of social jibber-jabber. However, this does not stop them doing it over the Internet to complete strangers.

Least likely to spread around = more trustworthy. What else could trust for keeping information about you could mean?

That's not entirely what I said. Please read my entire post or at least quote entire statements. That way, you keep it in context.

I said

What about you reading my posts instead? I can't see the word "introvert" anywhere in this thread, except in your post.

This makes no sense. You asked for "The most trustable type" and I said:

I would definetly say an INFP, they won't have any interest in gossiping about it, they have high values and are loyal to their friends. This is obviously generalisations, it depends on the individual really. I would say an INTP is pretty trustworthy as well.

If we rationally concluded we should break someones trust, would we?

One way I'd say yes, then again i'd say no, then again i'd say no simply because, just because I think something, that doesn't mean i'll actually do anything...

I'm always misanthropic
oooohhh, untrustworthy much? :phear: lol, kidding. I know what you mean, I just find that I'm really trustworthy when I love everybody. On the days where I want to exterminate the human race though, don't tell me any secrets.

Wouldn't trust Buddha himself, let alone the broad 2%- 6% of population, no mater the type. However it is possible I could trust myself.. even then I'm not too sure about the torture aspect though..

I just came across an interesting article on gestures that - in combination - indicate to others that someone is untrustworthy. There were two studies mentioned, sort of positive versions of the prisoner's dilemma, where they tested how much the subjects trusted each other. In one study, subjects interacted with each other. In the other, they interacted with a robot.

Of course it says nothing about type. It is only about body language. But INTPs are notorious for mimicking the body language of others, which means we see it well, too.

I know if I don't trust someone, they shouldn't expect me to have their back. But if I am quite certain of someone, I will never let them down.

Humans react to each other, no matter what their personality type. And trustworthiness is situational. That might be more true for some types than others.

This is pretty general, but I don't take this all that seriously, so please don't think I do. I just thought this was a fun exercise.

Trustable: Intelligent ISFJs - they will be loyal and hard to crack by appreciating the meaning that you bring to their lives. Intelligent ISTPs - they can handle a lot of shit and seem pretty loyal to those they love. Intelligent ISTJs - Good at keeping people from knowing that they know anything at all to be begin with. Probably better at this than ISTPs and ISFJs.

INTPs probably don't feel enough of an attachment to hold out too long.
INTJs use that kind of shit as leverage and expect that others will too.
INFPs probably would give in and come up with an excuse for it that they will expect or try to get you to understand.
INFJs probably can't handle too much stress. Will crack eventually because of a metaphorical weak will and mind.

ISFP - bleh. Worst type to trust with secrets. Way to fucking chit-chatty. And they seem to let secrets slip off the tongue, as if it will make people more comfortable that way. Sometimes it's just their need to state the obvious that let's out a secret to the other people around them. Like interpreting a facial expression and making an inference about the other people around, but OUT LOUD. Geez.

ISTPs, agreed. But they have trouble listening to your shit in the first place.

ISTJs, agreed. Makes them good at getting various info, but they don't use it anyway, they just make a judgement based on first thing they saw or heard.

INTJs, doesn't that also apply to ENTJs, the very same characteristic? I thought that's NTJ quality.

INFPs sound like annoying shitheads in your description. (no offense anyone, it's my comment on that behavior, not type)

INFJs Oh well.

ISFPs, fuck, that's fucked up. :D

This. INFP friends are the only ones I have complete trust in to keep shit to themselves. I consider myself a trustworthy person 99% of the time, however I go through ditsy phases where I forget what needs to be kept secret (this often coincides with intoxication, though not always).

Other than my personal experience with INFP's, I do not think trustworthiness would be terribly correlated with type.
