Hahaha if only you could use deja vu to see into the future. You would have known.

HA! You're sad!

What's wrong, saddy-sad, scared you're mundane like everyone else? Well you're right! Now go cry over your mediocrity, and understand the sadness of Average Joe! You are a mere ape, whom will die in less than a single century, who's stuck in a purposeless universe where every star pours it's energy out into the vastness of space and into uselessness, until it all ends when entropy destroys the last bit of useable energy or everything collapses into itself, and everything you've ever known or loved, though hundreds of billions of years gone anyway, don't even exist as their constituent atoms...

Bravo. That should be the universal creed for cynics around the world.

Interesting but not how I have deja vu. I see the whole scene if you will, in a dream so I won't pay attention to it. If I remember it at all. Then a few days/weeks/months I'll see the same scene and BAM deja voodoo

This is exactly as I get them. I have a dream, disregard it (most of the time) then later on at some random point in the future it happens.
Sometimes it come without the dream and I do something and get the sense of deja vu.

I could be wrong here, but I though it was caused simply from very similar scenarios. Our brains are trained to recognize patterns, and when something happens often enough (and we're aware of it, perhaps unconsciously? [which is why it's strange; not actual intentional memorization or perception of patterns]) we think we've seen it before.

Am I wrong in assuming that when you have Deja Vu, you only remember it while or after it's happened? By that I mean, you don't predict what will come next; you simply remember it happening. It's already seen.

Most of my episodes are with seemingly irrelevant social scenarios (other people are involved and I'm a casual observer), usually triggered by something visual (people having a certain seating arrangement or making some sort of motion). I have deja vu often. Also, I'm an IJ so Proletar's point makes sense there too.

I feel like my deja vu rate is increasing. I have several a week.

I saw the wolf of wall street recently and the feeling I got was "I liked it better this time then when I was like 7"

In the shower I had the exact same thing again before I articulated that that's what I was feeling when the movie ended. MY feeling's tell me I've seen it before.

I like your theory.

My whole life is a deja vu.
Long long ago pretty much every event, I used to think happened before long ago when it just happened.
May be I am stuck in an infinite loop, doing the same things again and again , again and again.

Dude....

You don't make any posts that I could understand.

If you're pretending, I suggest you get out of the habit.

This thread suddenly showed some promise. I like where it is going.

I am much like Steven Gerrard, I too have Deja Vu quite often. Of course When I do have it I analyze it and try to figure out where the recurrence comes from; what pattern is instrisically there. Its actually quite enjoyable and fun to analyze things like that. I was being goofy before so it was hard for people to tell that I actually like this thread quite a bit. Something as complex as to the occurrence of deja vu and knowing that it can in fact be analyzed correctly is something I enjoy mulling over. Don't know how much concrete science there is behind it but I enjoy the challenge of analyzing it for myself non the less.

I don't remember having a deja vu for several months. In the past I rarely had this feeling because I tend to imagine things that later happen in my life and in this way I can visualise most events that are less complex. Maybe I replace deja vu with envisioning or planning/projecting.

Often I have a thought that I have already thought about something though.

I wanted to receive a bit of grammar/language study as QuickTwist or Quick twist has provided us with "asshole". Why do you use this in a connected form instead ass hole? What is the purpose? Is it offensive? Why would it be ussed in an offensive way as this just relates to physiology and body parts? Maybe QuickTwist tried to link this with deja vu occurence? I have seen this asshole before?
Why don't you guys learn how to PM/VM each other, instead of turning every single thread into 1 on 1 interactions that just end up completely removed from the actual context of the thread?
Indeed why don't people that presumably could be arbitrarily viewed negatively don't choose to call themselves assholes in PM? Is it because somehow they resemble or display this negativity?

I have thought of many reasons. Since I mostly become aware of deja vu seconds before the events actually happen I thought it could be anything from neurophysiology to multiverse branching/touching membranes to time loops to multiple personality disorder. And while it feels that the "memory"(memory of something that has yet to happen) was created anywhere from couple weeks to 4 hours ago, that could be an illusion.

My best experience with deja vu happened in a store when I heard three early 20s girls coming towards me and knew what will happen next. In the "memory" one of them fell over (with a squeal ) into a small item stand (gum, matches, condoms, Snickers and the like) near cashier, tries to hold onto it and then the whole contraption falls on me, but I jump and get away clean even though I bump into a person in front of me. The girl gets a bruise on her face and her phone goes sliding away on the floor.
In reality my hand was almost on the stand's frame, I was shifting my weight and lowering my center of gravity when the falling/squealing started. It all ended with the girl righting herself after catching hold of the stand and laughing it off. And me trying to procure telekinesis powers for the rest of the day.
If that's really pattern recognition, subconscious probability calculations and predictions, then I want to learn to control it. Because that would mean I have Insightful Reflexes.
That's the only time when I was able to act instead of remaining an observer.

Then there are things that I "remember" before I find them. Usually minutes after I wake up, so it's possible I dream them up.
I first "remembered" Evanescence and Jasmine Thompson, before I was aware of their existence/songs.

If these are all illusions and pathologies, then I still quite enjoy them and wouldn't opt out.
