Today was the day of my second PreCalc test and I completely bombed for the second time, yet I understood how to do the problems from both tests. This doesn't make any sense, right? I claim the reason is because I am introverted; in my natural state my energy level is very low. This means that while I can think clearly with my initial inertia, it is hard for me to respond to others or think about things that do not involve my inner world. To interact with the outer world with the full capabilities of my Ne, I need to gain momentum, i.e. I need to exercise and warm up my Ne. I call this the Introverted Dilemma.

The Introverted Dilemma is the tendency of introverts to hard a hard time bringing their inner selves to the surface, while in their natural, introverted, low energy state. In contrast to extroverts who can respond instantly, because their energy is already focus outward.

ISFJ - Trouble with how uncomfortable they feel
ISTJ - Trouble with how uncomfortable they feel
ISFP - Trouble with inner feelings
INFP - Trouble with inner feelings
INTP - Trouble with inner thoughts
ISTP - Trouble with inner thoughts
INTJ - Trouble with inner beliefs/visions
INFJ - Trouble with inner beliefs/visions

Now that you can understand the problem here, I ask if anyone knows about any possible exercises to increase your energy state or otherwise warm up Ne. I know that I am competent but I just need to get in the mood to perform proficiently.

^ from your conceptualization, it seems like introverted intuition is the least problematic, barring the desire to enact large scale change. that is, thoughts and feelings and sensing are relevant to every exercise whereas intuition seems more like a guiding mechanism. those are my throwaway thoughts anyway.

I am a mixture of at least three of problems, often.

But, as to your exact question, I have not a proposition for you. It is truthfully something I have been trying to fix for a few months, and my schoolwork is really slacking this year because of it.

If one has trouble with inner beliefs or conceptual frameworks, I believe every other thing about that person if not going to function quite correctly.

Yea that sounds about right, though since I'm not Ni dom I don't know the full extent of its capabilities. The focus here though is on INTP. NT almost guarantees my ability to do well on math tests yet my strong thinking abilities are focused inward, they have to be applied through Ne. But everyone knows tests are the most unexciting creations known to man, how am I supposed to become energized, especially in the early morning?

Five hour energy
work out/jog before school
stop thinking that tests are boring
listen to energizing music

etc.

I couldn't give you any suggestions for making a real change in your mental conditioning to make you more energized. Nor would I want to. I like being an introvert.

1.) Eh, rather not.
2.) Probably the best idea, but I get up real early.
3.) It's a proven fact :p. No really I don't have problems with them, it's just I've never had to take one at 7 in the morning.
4.) My headphones are broken :(, but I think this would well work also.

This just isn't with tests, it also manifests as speech problem. Whenever I have an idea of what I want to say, it comes out jumbled when I haven't been talking much beforehand.

how about getting as much sleep as you can the night before. then waking up even earlier then you need, to give yourself the time you need to get into gear and not end up tired later when you have to do the test.

also maybe try going over the test subject matter a bit to get your internal thinking focused on the subject.

i don't know, just some ideas.

Lol, funny.

My creative thinking abilities are completely shut off, while my sense of logic and structure is completely intact. So just looking at problems with the answers doesn't really help. I guess I could try working with formulas to warm up though.

Ugh. I took a Differential Calculus final exam at 6am once. I had to get up in the middle to go puke. I scraped by and passed the test but it was horrible.

I don't agree that being introverted and in a low energy state means we are unprepared to deal with everything in the external world. I just don't have the energy to respond to people.

Either way, if you are wanting to warm up your Ne try doing a few low stress and simple puzzles/brainteasers. Get a couple of brainteaser type puzzle books or get something for the DS or PSP if you own one. Generally you go from less difficult to more difficult puzzles as you progress so it nudges your brain into using Ne more. This wakes me up when my brain is feeling sluggish.
