The conundrum of dancing at clubs

I think it's god's funny joke that I'm naturally drawn to the ESTJs.

I think this type (ESTJ) likes to go clubbing and dance.

I'm an INTP and I hate clubbing, and I don't think dancing makes any sense. Maybe I can muster up the mood to go clubbing once in a blue moon, but it's more likely that I still won't really know what I'm doing.

It still seems like the curse of god that I am attracted to ESTJs.

Why would I want to go after a girl who I'll have little in common with once I get her? It really doesn't make any sense.

They remind me of pretty unicorns, and sometimes it's like "I want one!" "I gotta have it!"

Like a little boy at Baskin Robbins and I really want Orange Sherbet.

So, the conundrum of dancing at clubs: something that makes no sense-- yet it is the natural habitat of my future ex-girlfriend.

It's not so much the dancing as the style of dancing that makes little sense to me. :D

*hit arms in the air*

WHUMP.

WHUMP.

I don't actually care as much these days, one thing I've found that helps is deliberately parodying the style of dancing of everyone else though (if you're with the right people...) If you acknowledge the overall silliness of the situation It puts you in a 'fun' frame of mind, and strangely overrides most feelings of embarrassment (if you're with the right people...)

I wouldn't parody the people you're aiming to attract though. :p

Unless you can do it convincingly enough that you become one of them. :cat:

Also, through years of observing the pigeons in my back garden I've found that puffing out your neck appears to win mates as well.

(are you allergic to anything?)

(This is why they call me Puffy. :phear:)

not.

I'm in a very silly mood. Profuse apologies for any harm caused in the creation of this brief message.

Drink. It solves everything. I'm sorry, but it actually does for me.
It doesn't make you a good dancer, it doesn't make you say the right things and it doesn't make you suddenly enjoy it very much. But atleast everything becomes better, you'll actually dance other than making robotic arm movements trying to move by moving as little as possible, you'll be able to bear extraverts and since you're drunk, you got an excuse for being weird.

Don't drink TOO much, effects go downhill fast.

Lol. We have vastly different ideas of what solving something means.

You said it solves everything yet it does not making anything better in the same paragraph. Usually when you solve something you improve it and or make things better. What you're trying to say is getting drunk lowers your inhibitions, which we all know, and you therefore feel more comfortable making an ass of yourself because Sally don't give two shits when drunk.

I am going to suggest meeting ESTJs some place else. Good luck mate.

Okay, I guess I didn't quite explain myself. Booze is rarely an actual solution to any problems, but it certainly does help. Altho it won't magically make you a good dancer, or solve your problems in talking with people / women, it'll certainly help you in the right direction (actually dancing and talking :p). Also, it makes being in crowded environments full of sweaty strangers far more bearable. It stops me from craving to get the fuck out of there as fast as I can. It stops me from wanting to crawl into my hole and shut the door for everyone else.

It doesn't make anything right, and it won't solve your problems for you. It just makes working on these things far more bearable. Also, I'm not saying you get absolutely wasted, as said before, things go downhill from there. Just abit to losen up. I doubt i should be telling others to start drinking, but without drinks, I would not survive nights of going out.

What in particular don't you enjoy about modern dancing?

Girls allow strangers to basically hump them on a dance floor, and your favorite type is one known to be pretty okay with this behavior. What's to dislike? :twisteddevil:

I agree with you on dancing that isn't 1-on-1 or structured, though. Tribal dancing, square dancing, and grinding make the most sense to me, where as dancing in a group circle while awkwardly looking people in the face while not knowing what to do... not so much.

You also don't have to dance at clubs.
