Well, it all started when I found out Keirsey [1]... His sorting is just like "SP - sanguine, NT - melancholy, etc." and I tried it on my class at high school. 99% of outcomes were just right!
Then, I have found theory about something like sorting 4 temperaments to some kind of - well, you will see in link [2]. I just realized, that extroversion and introversion are in MBTI already and stable/unstable are J/P. So outcomes were, like "melancholic - IP (which, again, is true if applied on me), choleric - EP etc." (but now I am not sure if stable/unstable isn't neurotic dichotomy from big five).

Well, I have just got mess of it, so... could you give me some information about your experiences or something about temperaments in mbti? Thanks

Huh?

There are a few ways you can organize them, no way is static or perfect.

My favorite is:

Sanguine - EP - hot*wet (:p)
Melancholic - IP - cold*wet
Phlegmatic - IJ - cold*dry
Choleric - EJ - hot*dry

my problem is not that I don't know how to get functions of person from the acronym... my problem is that I can't find the set of temperaments that suit the dichotomies (or attitudes for I/E) in the best way...

anyway, I have just found this one: http://www.socionics.com/articles/mytake.html it is about 4 temperaments, that are based on I/E and J/P and, well, it fits quite well for now

stable/unstable is not J/P!

stable/unstable are the opposites in the neuroticism spectrum, which is officially lacking in MBTI

i have my own theory that neuroticism is S/N related, but it is just speculation up to now.
