You have to mix just the right amount of spite with enough pretenses to be cute, thus creating some sort of desirable pathos that draws the user in, in spite of your distatse at their presence.

It's a win-win situation, the new guy sticks around for 'x' months, and you don't have to worry about developing a reputations as a charming, chirpy, omni-greting ninny.

I'd advise a thorough review of the historical account of Stalin's inferior T-34 tanks vs. Hitler's elite Tigers and Panthers in WWII, because Stalin was straight-up correct when he said "Quantity has a quality all of its own.'.

Value exists only as a result of diversity...Scarcity only encourages hyper-inflation. Stop trying to portray your proclivity for acting like an insatiable prick at random as defending the purity and essence of intepiquity. This is an intro forum, not a fucking initiation, so lighten up and stop defining 'exclusivity' as a positive. Insular communities are for cops and other SJ's who need protection from their blind allegiances.

If the OP's affected sarcasm had been a snake it's fangs would be embedded in your ass right now. Stoic Beverage doesn't appear to have had any difficulty interpreting or fittingly responding, and he's in what...tenth grade?. You on the other hand appear to have completely failed in this regard.

You might want to reconsider your willingness to attack newbs in their inaugural threads as more along the lines of child-molester philosophy. Your other posts strongly imply a degree of intelligence that could easily effect a more constructive approach. I'm not saying you have to, but I think you're at least obligated to cut the guy enough slack to hang himself with. Preempting the process on your own terms is an insult to fellow members and newbs alike.

I'll venture to say that you either have an incredible amount of suppressed anger which you need to address, or you have a personal problem with me, which is odd because we don't actually know each other personally.

What it boils down to Cory is that this is a welcoming thread, and the member didn't get a very nice welcome. There's no need to make excuses.

I joined the INTJ forum before this one, as I was originally typed INTJ. And all I got was abuse from my initial post on the welcoming thread. They might have thought it funny, or lets play with the newbie, but I get enough hassle from people in RL to take that if I don't have to. Needless to say I felt little need to stay there, or contribute to their community. My welcome here was much more receptive, and members displayed an interest in me, so I stayed and have now contributed hundreds of posts. Whether that is a good or bad thing I will let you decide.
