Dream experiences are highly similar to real life experiences, we feel pain, joy, etc the same way in a dream as in real life.
Then why do people only focus on improving their real life?
Why is there no effort in trying to improve your dream?
Wouldnt being able to dream of yourself as a billionaire atleast be 50% similar to leading a posh lifestyle, then cant you agree that if you wish to lead a wealthy lifestyle at least part of it can be enjoyed through a dream.
Or, say you like someone you know a lot. Isnt dreaming of spending time with the person atleast similar to spending time with the real person (provided you know a lot about the person's characteristics)
Im not saying that dreams are substitutes, im saying that it can be complimentary.
Also, dreams require comparatively lesser work because you arent competing with others for money or love..
We try to optimise our experience every single second under a traffic light.
We spend 1/3rd of our life dreaming, but we just let it move on randomly, instead of paying atleast some attention to it and directing them according to the way we want to dream..
Why is only rea life experience given any sort of relevance, shouldnt dreams be given at least 10% of the effort we do to improve our *real* lives?
Shouldnt we strive for a better dream just as we strive for a better future? Or are we simpletons who think things only count if you remember them, so it doesnt matter what you dream because you forget it. Are we that simple minded to say that an experience is just a memory and the importance is not in the experience itself, whether real or imaginary?
