It's a mind-mapping program that helps people organize their thoughts. I'm loving it. There are all kinds of features that allow you to get the specific variations perfect, using colors, shapes, icons, etc. I was playing around with it tonight and did this for fun.

I also used it to map out some of my perversions and their possible causes and associations.

That's fucked up. I mean, why would you want to organize your thoughts on a computer? I just don't see the advantages of looking at yourself in this way. I'd rather go on a drive, bike ride, or walk instead (to organize my thoughts).. rather than sit on a computer and type everything out in my head I can think of and organize it into categories.. sounds painful.

I used to have this on my computer but never found much use for it. But if anything, your post gave me some ideas on things to use it for.

Well, I find it pretty useful for basic introspection. I can ask a question in the first node about something I'm trying to figure out, and then in the child nodes, I give possible answers. After that, I make another set of nodes for each child node, describing any associations I come up with. Really, the potential for this program is much greater than anything I have done with it. I think in the hands of INTPs, it would allow for some pretty amazing things to happen. It aids in the thought categorization process and gives a visible structure to your ideas so they are easier to communicate.

INTPs frequently complain that other types don't understand them because their thoughts are so complex and interconnected. Every detail ties into some other detail, which is related to another entire set of ideas. INTPs sometimes stop trying to find the starting point for something they want to talk about, and just assume that nobody would understand anyhow. They end up failing to form intimate interpersonal bonds for lack of the proper communication aids that would allow them to show others what they are thinking in perfect detail. I would have a braingasm if one of you critters were to map out your entire head this way, so I could get inside. I am desperate to understand what it is like to be one of you.

I second the walking. Haven't done that in some time because....well now I usually take drives.

But why would an INTP make a map of something they know is ridiculously interconnected and they don't need the map for themselves? I'd just be a massive pain to make it... ^_^

I've actually thought of doing a brain map, but It would take time and effort... maybe I'll start sketching one someday out of boredom, it would never be finished though.
