Black - Subjectively time slows to a crawl for every 10 minutes you experience only one minute passes, your physical capabilities and needs remain the same, you can't dodge bullets but you're really good at paintball and although you're not super intelligent you've got plenty of time to think, from everyone else's perspective you read and learn ten times faster.

White - Any human corpse you touch is restored to life as long of there's at least 100g mass of them in one piece, for twenty four hours they live, retain all their skills/memories and are totally subservient to you. The exact reason varies depending upon the person and your relationship with them, someone who swore to kill you if you resurrected them may be all tsundere about it. Once the twenty four hours are up they return to being a corpse, for example the 100g mass piece of bone you touched. You can do this repeatedly, it cannot happen by accident you need to intend for it to happen, the person has to be dead a severed hand will not suffice.
If the "resurrected" dies they turn back into the corpse they were.

Red - The whole Wolverine/Deadpool regeneration thing, you're not super strong but you can push yourself past the normal limits of endurance. Exercise makes your muscles bigger and more toned as it normally would except you need no down time to recuperate. You still need food, you're not creating mass out of nothing and your body only has so much chemical energy to burn so your endurance isn't limitless, you can die of starvation. Curiously though taking a bullet to the head wont deprive you of your memories. If you're decapitated you'll die, there simply isn't enough mass to regenerate your vital organs. Being turned into a human smoothie is survivable insofar as whatever point you're regenerating from is in contact with enough of your biomass.

Green - You can shape shift into anything living you've touched, be it a specific person, animals of at least 100g mass, plants of at least 100g mass. You retain your mind and memories, while in the form of other people who have taken a pill you do not gain their pill-granted abilities. Shape shifting does not cure wounds or diseases although if you get an arm chopped off you can turn into an axolotl until it grows back and sharks have kickass immune systems, honey badgers are notoriously poison resistant, etc.

Orange - You can talk anyone into anything, even people who know you have this ability will succumb to your flawless reasoning in a few minutes or rather the ability is knowing exactly the right thing to say to affect people's minds just the right way to make them see things your way. Depending upon how reasonable your goal was the target may realize you've duped them after a few minutes, a few hours or they might never realize, generally the more subtle your influence the longer it will go unnoticed.

Blue - You can turn incorporeal and fly, you can only fly while incorporeal, while in this state you cannot be harmed although you can be seen although maybe not recognized if you're wearing a disguise. While incorporeal you have no physical needs although you do grow older, your flight speed maxes out at the speed of light. Being incorporeal doesn't make you emit light or turn transparent unless it's the light of a laser that would harm you then the excess light simply passes straight through, the amount of light needed to physically push you is far in excess of what would harm you. While incorporeal you cannot interact with the world around you, obviously, and you cannot transition out of the incorporeal state while a physical object of significant mass is in your way, anything less than "significant" (i.e. dust and air particles) is simply removed from existence.

I'll post more as I think of them.
On second thought this is enough.

These are cool.

In my X-Men fantasies I usually have regenerative powers. Red pill seems great. I think I'm gonna go with that. It's nice because you're not really stuck with eternal/reallly long life, and you're still human enough. This would be great for me because there are so many things I'd like to do but I run out of strength or energy so quickly.

Orange seems fun.

Green. That said I prefer the version of shape shifting that effectively makes you immortal/regenerating but even so I would go with that. And break into a lot of zoo's.

I buffed the green one quite a bit, if you keep turning into different animals with the right regenerative abilities you could probably delay death indefinitely.
Edit: I got ninja'ed
Edit2: The point was to make the Green and Red pills different, you can use green to regenerate but it's not combat regeneration nor can you exploit it to sculpt your body like Red can.

If you keep eating and exercising the Red pill will make you ridiculously buff, possibly even to a state of being so excessively muscular it hampers your mobility but this can be offset with self imposed starvation, the muscles will be cannibalised by the body before the more essential organs.

I'd go with the Black pill although White is probably the most powerful, and evil.

Would be interesting to use the white in a battlefield situation. Thinking more historic battles with high mortality rates like the Somme.

I'd go with the Black pill although White is probably the most powerful, and evil.

Is it evil because you are exerting control over death, or is it evil because you're assuming their use of the power would be abusive?

Does the corpse resume human likeness (even if you start with just a part of it), or does it still look like a corpse? And is it really the person or simply animated, or is that a non-sensical question since it assumes that there is something other than the body that lives and creates personhood?

I mean, it can have many "positive" uses:

- Someone has crucial knowledge or skill you need to save others or complete an important task.

- Some didn't get to say goodbye to a loved one and this provides them closure before they go back to death. (and, if not looking like a corpse, maybe a little physical closure? *cough*)

- An author can finish the book they were working on before they died abruptly. (I am thinking of you, GRRM!)

- A mortal task must be accomplished that would kill living creatures, but the dead are already dead.

... and so on.

Would be interesting to use the white in a battlefield situation. Thinking more historic battles with high mortality rates like the Somme.

I was going to ask that myself, Jenny. But Cogs did say that they can be reanimated from a 100g piece of bone and return to their corpse state afterwards, so I'm assuming they reanimate to look like they did before. They also retain all their memories and knowledge, so I would assume it sounds like a temporary revival - so a Deathly Hallows situation rather than necromancy.

I would go with Red, but, you lose an arm or a leg and you'd starve to death during the healing process. Any serious injury would use so much energy and biomass as to kill you, so the downside negates it's purpose.

Might go with Blue. Sounds like fun, plus phasing has combat potential when trained. You could be a super hero - The Wraith or something.

Yeah, I just wanted to confirm that before I bring back James Dean or a young Marlon Brando or someone for a night on the town....

There's an "evil" use for you -- initially killing someone you want to control, just so you can then bring them back repeatedly with them under your control.

Blue sounds again like a good option considering the "ultimate observer/traveler" nature of it.

Red unfortunately here sounds like less bang for the buck, and even if you can regenerate, you're still gonna feel everything that happens. Guess what happens if an enemy decides to just capture and imprison you and then torture you in terrible ways, like amputating limbs, sticking you with things, burning you, liquefying you...? You feel everything. Without superhuman abilities, you likely won't be able to escape whatever torment your foe has planned for you, so... screw that.

Orange sucks because there's no skill involved. It doesn't matter what you say or do, you automatically influence others. Boring. You lose the ability to actually engage someone and find common ground or reach an understanding. It's like forcing someone to fall in love with you -- it's not really love.

Green becomes far more interesting, though.

I'd still choose the blue pill.

The reanimated are restored to a living state just like any other living person, they breathe, they eat, they sleep, they have body heat and a heart beat, etc.

I'm considering how to buff Red and Orange.

I'll go with Green, I can regenerate via amphibian/reptile form and cheat aging indefinitely using a jellyfish form.

Black sounds like hell especially if you're in the grocery. Maybe there should be an off switch?

Blue can be fixed with Nightcrawler's BAMF. Insignificant mass like air simply gets pushed when you materialize your corporeal form.
