As I don't mean to perpetrate pseudoscience or false facts or whatever, all things are open to debate/discussion/evidence/experience. I will only post what I have tried myself.

  • Cold water/lukewarm water > Hot water - for showers. Hot water dries out your skin, and apparently cold water is better for your hair/skin; and hot water is just more expensive? right?
  • soft bristle toothbrush + > hard bristles;
    + flossing
  • bathroom wise: squatty potty post # 29
  • Diet wise: Eat to Live (I imagine this would be the most contested, but per my experience...+++)

Things I'm curious about that I haven't figured out:
  • Fluoride in water? Tap water vs filtered? I've talked to so many people and tried to read studies but it's all "Wtf??"
  • Sleep cycles: I've tried the 90 minute thing, or increments or uberman or whatever, but I could never get it to work out.
  • Chapstick/lip balm? Does that shit actually help your lips or is the theory that it purposefully dries it out and is addictive to make you buy more srs? lol

so, yeah, small life things that make a difference, like seating posture...or shit like that.

Probably, as is using hot tubs and chlorinated/heated pools. I use both at a local health club, deeming the relaxation from this worth more than a little dry skin.

soft bristle toothbrush + > hard bristles; + flossing

Soft bristle always, I don't know why anybody would use a hard. Of course flossing always.

bathroom wise: squatty potty post # 29

Diet wise: Eat to Live (I imagine this would be the most contested, but per my experience...+++)

If you follow that diet you won't have to spend much time in the bathroom.

Fluoride in water?

Fluoride is good thing for kids in disadvantaged circumstances, not too important otherwise. Naturally occurring fluoride isn't that uncommon, kids who drink tea, i.e. in the rest of the world including Britain, much of Europe and obviously Asia, get way more from the tea leaves. Older leaves (cheaper tea) have the most.

Tap water vs filtered?

Depends on the quality of your water obviously. Municipal water in the U.S. is the best in the world. Just put a chlorine filter on it for better taste. In the rest of the world as long as its clean to a reasonable standard there's no need.

Sleep cycles: I've tried the 90 minute thing, or increments or uberman or whatever, but I could never get it to work out.

Just a regular, normal schedule, 7-8 hours usually.

Chapstick/lip balm? Does that shit actually help your lips or is the theory that it purposefully dries it out and is addictive to make you buy more srs? lol

I find that to be true, if I use it then I need it, if I ignore it then not necessary.

More important than all of this is finding fulfilling work and relationships of course.

  • I've read in the past that flouride makes one more docile as well as have the effect of calcifying the pineal gland. Now I've never really looked too deeply into it but I do my best to avoid things that shouldn't be in our bodies really.

Tap water I can't imagine being that healthy to drink. I was reading an article the other day where water got severely contaminated after it left the treatment plant. You just never know exactly what it is you are ingesting is what it comes down to. It can contains traces of minerals and metals that you would not want in your body. So invest in a great filter, it definitely will not hurt.
