Site is wrong about my machine

Just wondering why the information next to my posts is wrong, and what's being used and how it works as I've not seen it done before. I've only ever posted using Windows 7 and Chrome. Is it wrong for a lot of people? Something to do with my browser configuration or security?

Does it matter?

If your OS and browser aren't being displayed properly then your security settings are doing their job, because if someone were trying to hack you, knowing your system architecture would certainly make that easier.

safari and chrome use incarnations of the same engine, called webkit, which is what the script detects.

windows used to come in two major flavors: "NT" and "not jet NT" and i guess the script determines, that your version (windows 7) is an NT version and the popup-label just gives some classic examples of windows systems that were NT systems.

It has nothing to do with anything on your end.

The plugin that displays the OS and browser is just outdated and it doesn't recognize all browsers and o. systems.
